Is this leather I feel
is there metal attached
This ones ownership sealed
A leash that is matched
To lead me about
true pride in your face
You say with a shout
come sit in your place
A spot kept open
for one such as I
more than a token
the place where I try
It is where you teach
and hopefully I learn
practicing what was preached
Until at last its my turn
From the place at your side
Attention I pay
others do hide
yet some of them play
The pride in the room
wonderful pet it is said
I sit there quietly
as you stroke my head
