In this day and age its a generally accepted fact that most couples both work. If this is the case for you, questions are:
1.How much does your Master/Mistress help around the home if at all?
2. Or if you dont have a Master/Mistress what are you expectations around domestic issues with potential partners?
3.Or if Your a Master?Mistress how much are you willing to do re domestics?

Master often cooks meals, i think he does it for pleasure though as he is a great gourmet cook and loves trying out new things. He has been known to hang the washing out and sweep up on occasion too.

Generally speaking, it depends who either has the time or is able to get things done. Whilst I love to cook, I’ll admit to being lazy and cook when the mood takes me. ()I’m referring to gourmet meals rather than the toss together eat whilst you watch TV meals). Neets is a great cook who also loves to cook. Laundry ~ provided I’m given sufficient warning, I’ll organise what I’m doing be able to go hang out the wash or help Neets do it. Cleaning the yard and lawn mowing tends to get done by Neets as she gets worried that I’ll have another mini heart attack from over exertion, however it boils down to planning things so we both can get involved and share the load. I do the pruning as I swing a mean cane-cutting knife, which is kept razor sharp. Inside either looks tidy or a combination of a bombsite, building site, medieval armoury and mad scientist’s laboratory. I usually have several pieces of “work in progress” all which occur due to the lack of a workshop so a spare bedroom is pressed into service as is the area about my computer and the adjacent dining area. Soo, yep I guess you could say that house slaves are needed, but are as scarce as hens’ teeth.

I know that when my Sir and I move in together in March we will share the domestic duties with him probably ending up doing more then me. He is retired and will work at home doing his writing and I will be working outside the home. I'm looking forward to it. I was married for 17 years to a man that didn't lift a finger to do anything other then wheel the garbage to the curb twice a week, and that is if I reminded him.

I like cooking and decorating myself. Because we both work, the two of us will clean together. This way we'll have more time with each other doing more fun things as we can't stay up to late due to work in the morning.

Mistress does her own dishes when I´m not around. Everything else is my job, or priviledge [:)]

I dont have a live in sub right now, but in the past I have always worked outside the home and he was My houseboi. I didnt tend to any of the domestic chores. I owned My own company and it took Me away from home for long hours at a time, so My houseboi was basically in charge of the cleaning, cooking and shopping. It worked for us.
I have never really required My sub to work outside the home. The whole idea of him moving in with Me was to free Me from having to do any domestic chores.

Taking care of Master is a full time job. When He is ill, I am His nurse round the clock as well as taking care of the flat, cooking, laundry and shopping. We have a friend come in once a fortnight for 2-3 hours to do the heavy cleaning. Yes, I know I am spoilt! [;)]

i just remembered another way Master helps with domestics - he follows me around with a cane some days lol..or there is nothing like bending over cleaning the tub and then to feel your Masters nails scratching down your back...he's so helpful *grin*

Our Sunshine doesn't live with us full-time yet. We're working towards it, but everything in the Universe happens in its own time. Some days' we're great about getting ourselves together and keeping the place up, and sometimes we suck at it. We've been doing for ourselves for most of our lives (SR and I both started working before we were in our teens), and are both able and willing... however, these days, we're getting comfortable with leaving more things for our Sunshine. She enjoys doing things for us so much that it has made us comfortable with letting her have a go at some of the things we've carried on our own.

All of us work outside the home, and our sunshine is trying to maintain a separate household as well as our household right now, with her own unmentionable to care for. The days she spends with us are treasured, and when she's not here, we do our best to take care of the little things that require daily (ok, often every-other-daily) management. When she lives with us full-time, we will prioritize according to how things work, which is our (mine and SR's) job, but in the end, whether it is doing the housework or taking care of other things, everyone in our household helps out in keeping our home running (including our unmentionables), and all of what is done is valued.

He helps sometimes, but I end up doing the majority.

I work full time though, which means I'm around the house al ot less than he is, so occationally he'll do stuff because I'm not there to do it or am drop-dead tired post work.

The one chore we split just aobut up the middle is the dishes.

If you like being a little old fashion let's look at it this way. There's Mans Work and Womans Work. For example, I call it upon myself to put up lights, do yard work, assemble items, take out the garbage, fix broken stuff, move heavy items, cooking Grill Foods and most other things envolving tools. Examples of Womens Work includes cleaning, organizing, adding to decoration, cooking, laundry, and keeping fresh ice tea/lemonade avalible at any given time.

Pet and I have more things added to our list. The above is just an example of how we break up some of the house work.

My man does all the man stuff plus all the woman's stuff. I don't do anything except make money (but I am a workaholic, so I work a lot). But he doesn't have a job out of the house and has plenty of time for his hobbies, and he doesn't find any of the cleaning or cooking to be a drag -- he enjoys it.

When my business requires that he help me more (ie during tax time since he handles the finances, or if I have a project he can pitch in on) we pay a maid to pick up a lot of the house cleaning so he isn't stretched too thin.

I've been told to expect that sort of help too. He particulary likes the idea of me bending over to get the clothes out of the dryer. [:D]

It has always been with me that I am NOT domestic and have made that very clear to everyone I've been with. The times I am is merely in the moment and should not be interpreted as a regular occurance, i.e. "well you did it yesterday."

Hello All,
I work 9-5 Monday-Friday out of our home. I am a full slave to my Master.

My loving Master allows me to go out to my Black Rose Society meeting every Tuesday night & out with friends on my own occasionally. Those nights he cooks dinner for the kids unless he goes with me.

He's been known to do household laundry to help me as well. He also does his own work clothes at a laundry mat as he does not want them washed in the washer at home.
He helps carry in the groceries and heavy things we bring home.
If he does not have his own with him he carries my play bag for me into our clubs.
He's pressed his, mine and the kids clothing once in a while if I'm doing something else and we need it to go out that day.
Once in a while he'll even help me make the bed.
There are numerous other things he's done occasionally to help me keep afloat in the household responsibilities I have.
The best thing as far as taking over and helping me with my duties is in my aftercare the day after we play hard he actually orders me to rest and take it easy and leave my chores.
He's a very just and fair Master when it comes to my house obligations.

I'm very lucky to have him.

Hrmm.. well... Master takes out the garbage. That's labled 'not girl work'. Occasionally he will put the dishes away if he's trying to find a dish and they've all just been recently washed. Other than that, it's all me.

Gosh, seems like I'm pretty spoiled compared to the others who have responded. I think that it's all equal and it makes it fun. I juggle domestic chores and school, Master juggles domestic chores and work.

Master and I always do things together. I wash the dishes, He dries them and puts them up(hard for me to reach all the shelves). W/we make the bed together in the mornings, or if He's rushed, I do it before I go to school.

If He has to be gone all day, due to work, then I do all the chores around the house so He can come home to a nice clean house with no other worries. I just dont vacuum. It scares me lol

As for cooking, W/we both do that as well, unless He wants some chinese or japanese meals, then it's all me with Him chopping things up.

i do not work outside the home, but for a brief period i did, and the rules as far as housekeeping and such were and always will be the same...i do basically all the cooking and cleaning. like FangsNfeet, my Master does the manly stuff, like yardwork and taking out garbage, altho sometimes i will do those things as well. if i'm very ill or if it's my birthday or something he may cook for me, or clean up a bit. but generally those things are my duties.

In our family, everyone works outside the home and helps inside it as well. That way, all have time for the more pleasurable activities in life.

My boy is good at grocery shopping, running errands, doing taxes, fixing mechanical objects, basic car maintenance, and cleaning the floors. He was used to having a mechanical dishwasher at his family's home and felt silly about putting on gloves to wash the dishes (gasp!) by hand. I explained that the gloves would - #1 allow for the use of hot water rinsing and #2 protect against cuts. He finally got the hang of it, and looks quite adorable doing his chores with his shirt off.

Unfortunately his cooking skills are limited to making endless pots of coffee and bowls of cereal. His mechanical skills also extend to operating the toaster and microwave oven. Needless to say, I do the cooking or we pick up something from the deli at the corner grocery store. Most of the time I really enjoy cooking. I just prefer not to be rushed or ravenously hungry while preparing food as that ruins the mood.
