I received a email that kind of shocked me let me give you the details of it. Are you tired of meaningless cyberyak and dumbass online message boards? Are you frustrated with all the stupid, flaky people on collarme, fetlife, alt.com and the like? Are you finally ready to get out into the world of real-time kinky people who actually "do" all the sick and twisted things that most people only fantasize about? If so, it's time to turn off your computer, get off your ass, and get out into the world of "real-time" S&M! We are not a club or private "group", there are no memberships required, no stupid Yahoo Group to join, and no other pre-requirements needed. All we ask is that you are at least 18 years old, and have a burning desire to venture into the "real-time" world of BDSM, fetish, and overt deviant behavior. This was put out by WFFM …… Wichita Ks Its amazing how these same people go to the yahoo fet life alt and collar me to find people to go to there thing and then tell you your "stupid and flaky" because your on these sites. Look on the web sites you will find adds for their activities. Who are these people to tell us what we do is "not real life"? Who made them the GOD’S of the BDSM world? Why are they flaming other groups and organizations to get people to come to their event? As you read in to the messages on other web sights they have it says non profit. But they are collecting money so that is a business. They say they are not a club or private group or stupid yahoo group no requirements for admission but they "charge for admission". If they are not a private club how come they can pick and chose who they want in? That is a business like any other except that they don't offer you a product for your money and they have false advertising. I know for a fact that they do have requirements and will discriminate against those they feel "unworthy". They want your real name and you must RSVP but nowhere on the info dose it tell who they are, what they represent or what you get for your money. Why would I take the chance on going to a place like this? Where it seems anyone can get in. We are the same people that are on all the bad places they have listed and where many of us got our start, where many of us learn, and are learning enough to gain the confidence to step out in to the world with this lifestyle. Any of you that read this don’t let these people bully you out of your comfort zone. There are places to go that do not be little you and where or who or what you are.

I'd be tempted to check them out, to see what they're all about. But I do agree with you that their advertising scheme of putting down the sites sets me the wrong way.

...not to mention that there are a whole -slew- of us who are on CM, Fetlife, etc..., who are also -very- active in RL communities and in actually practicing our art. That kind of ad would make me think that these folks are drama-queen jackasses, and make it incredibly unlikely that I'd spend any time in their company. Calla Firestorm

I love that they use the work of others to bring in new paying subscribers! I often get the same sexy guy emailing... always complaining about CM and one way or another, pointing to a site that has tried to steal people from CM and will according to one friend who fell for it... take pictures off his CM profile and add them to his profile at their site. He won't be emailing me again! If there is a way to scam, they will. Don'tcha know that if you insult others, you look better? hehe... Some will fall for it, some won't. They are counting on those that do.

Being a non-profit doesn't mean you are not a business and doesn't mean you cannot charge admission. It means (basically) the profits go back into the business and not to an owner, since there is no "owner". Cali

As an officer in a local "real life" lifestyle club, I find these sorts of adverts deplorable. Many of our members have a home here and on many of the other fetish websites. If I were to check the rolls, I'm sure I would find about 50 people between CM and Fetlife that I've partied with on a regular basis, LOL. Lets be honest though. There are just as many trolls, lurkers and honestly curious folks here as there are on just about any website. Just to be fair, perhaps it would be best to assume that these types of ads are actually geared to the curious, and that the people who write the adverts just need to find a less retarded way to try to get them involved. -SD-

I'm laughing my ass off. I've actually have encountered some very real human beings into BDSM from Collarme.com. Sure, I've encountered a few fakes or less then honest ones as well. The real people so far out number the fakes. The internet is full of both honest and dishonest people. What a marketing ploy they have going on. Yadda Yadda Yadda... everybody wants to rule the world, even the idiots.
