sb4u, You could be right about that! If it does come down to that, I think this time the dems will be ready to fight tooth and nail over the final. None of this "Let's conclude this quickly for the good of the country" crap! The stakes are too high! Think about it... if Gore had only fought for it, maybe the country would have been spared: The war in Iraq. There would have been a Katrina response. We would have been 8 year ahead on alternative energy. Perhaps the recent economic disaster would have been averted. The US Constitution would still be upheld. 4,000+ US troops would still be alive. As would be 250,000 innocent Iraqi civilians. None of us would be having our phones tapped. The federal government would STILL be in surplus. The S-CHIP program would still be funded. The US wouldn't be considered a "torture state" by most of the world. Our National Debt wouldn't have been tripled. Halliburton would have remained a regular corperation, instead of a symbol of corruption. Enron would have never gotten a break like it did from Bush. Maybe even 9-11 itself would have been averted. (Gore like reading... he would have read the daily intel estimate... steps might have been taken.) Instead, because we thought the worst that could have happened was a "crush of the nation's morale" Gore and the dems gave up without fighting it to the bitter end. Instead, we got this... this... TEXAS PISSANT for a President, and a self apointed MONSTER of a VP rising from the dead, from the black pit of the Nixon years... Well, if it gets close this time, you can damn well bet it aint gonna be pretty. Would civil war be justified? I wonder...
