As someone who has worked in a call centre and has dealt with clients, I think most people who call in tend to forget one major thing. Politeness goes a long way rather than yelling, screaming, swearing and demanding things from a client care representative. They are there trying to get a paycheque and are there to help you. Also, please remember, the person you are talking to more than likely, if not probably, did not create your problem. They're just the ones stuck trying to fix it. Sometimes it's easy and other times it's not. Give them a second and be kind to them and trust me, they'll be willing to do more to try and get things resolved. Granted, it is discouraging to hear when call centres are moved overseas or to where it is cheaper to provide service. I realize the companies are trying to make a profit, but if people actually realized how many people do call in and how much it does cost a company to run a call centre....they'd be floored. It's a thankless job. Really. Do you really think people want to go into work to get yelled and screamed at by someone who can't understand a bill, or who can't check their email and who can't make a call on their cell phone? It's not a dream job, but it is an honest living. Give these people a break.
