Okay, just to keep you all updated: This morning, Monday the 22nd, McCain is a "regulator."  I repeat, today McCain is FOR regulation of Wall Street. However, do not confuse this with his position on the health care industry, which he still want's to "Deregulate, as we have our financial institutions, to great success."

Today's position is: REGULATE

Thank you, this has been a public service announcement from the "What the Fuck is Up With McCain Today? Comittiee For Political Clarity."

In the interest of "political clarity" that we all have, it might be interesting to note that Obama has been the second largest recepient of lobby donations from FannieMae and Freddie Mac.  This fellow from Chicago who reads a script better than Alec Baldwin or Jack Nicholson and has half the country fooled received over $100,000 from those two institutions since he joined the Senate, second only to Chris Dodd who is Chairman of the Finance Committee that is supposed to oversee these mismanaged entities.  Oh, and the two former Chief Executives of both companies are now very busy.....as advisors to the Obama campaign.   Just a few comments "in the interest of political clarity".  What a joke!

Do you even know which part of the health care industry he was talking about deregulating?

His suggestion was that health insurance companies be allowed to compete across state lines.  Nice spin though.

Oh and for your talks about the current finance problems... Try looking at Sen Dodd, Barney Frank, Sen. Biden, and Sen. Obama...  Like I have seen said around here many times "Follow the money".

One last quickie... you do realize who signed the deregulation bills into law?  You know the one that allowed the different types of banks to play in each others yards and gamble savings on investments?  It became law in '99.   Don't worry I won't tell anybody, you can keep your secret and blame it on others.

The deregulation laws you speak of was just the tip of the iceberg, you're quite right, they occured during Clinton's watch. However the complete repealing of the act came solely from Bush, and was advanced by his "ownership society" agenda, supported by the republican held congress. So, yeah, Clinton tried to sneak the regs down a notch, and Bush fucking blew up the damn with a truckload of C4.... Thanks, Thad. Nothing like a little slanted reporting on your part to prove you're just as biased as the rest.

Thadius, '99, was that "Glass-Steigel" signed by Bill Clinton?
