My word lots of replies and as it's proper and well mannered I will reply back :)

ranja - The problem I find with the cyber side of things, is through design or choice I'm a physical entity I have an expression Fetish so words to a point while lovely to read, if it's in the form of a report for example is brilliant.  But I'm going to be vain I honestly believe I deserve real tingling nervous flesh in front of me *winks* with a sharp mind and a beautiful soul.

Thank you for replying and I see your point on using sign to my advantage, never honestly accured to me as it's an everyday thing for me to use, always good to have fresh eyes seeing possibilities I may have missed.  I concur I think I've ran face first into alot of fakes.

Ahhh the beautiful amaiddiamond! - This beautiful creature is the first person all those years ago I met face to face, and was a person who knew of the lifestyle and I'm honoured to know her.

CalifChick - That is ironic, and I agree. Which  I found odd because of the speech restriction surely I'd be one of teh best people to know in how to find ways around it, but seems to have the other effect, Humans are silly things sometimes.

Sadly he isn't mine, he deserves to be in the wild. Never thought of the animal thing as a Domly thing, I've always been pretty good with animals.

Someone mentioned finding a munch close to you.  I don't know how it is everywhere else, but at the munch Master and i attend there are people of all ages (I'm, er, uh, in my 50's and i'm not even close to the oldest one that attend...same goes on the other end --- the majority is somewhere between 20 and 40 y.o.) and abilities, and because the community is small it's a very welcoming group.  I'd encourage you to give it a go.

When I was young (teens & pre teens), I was fortunate that I got exposed to a lot of “wild” animals.  Friends owned Jungle Jim's and Sea World (not that park, a store) as well as my many horse back riding adventures.  I noticed that I had confidence and command over animals far and above my friends.  Even problem animals that would attack others did not attack me.  If there was a struggle, I had dominant instincts, like spitting in a dog's mouth to establish dominance or sticking my fingers in a growling animal's mouth to make them cough and show I wasn’t afraid of their teeth. 

Dominance manifests in many forms… even tamed badgers.  That is a badger right?

RS - Thanks man, it's a skunk as your wondering :) He had been picked up and petted for a while, and then we were warned what he does when stressed heh. I simply put out my hand, and said "Hello, your safe" he sniffed my hand and I picked him up.
If I was to put my hand on my heart, I'm a Dominant communicator I know what works and what doesn't, I teach adults with learning difficullties who are deaf or hard of hearing to sign, if they can learn I'm sure I have the ability to teach other things :)

My adopted nephew is blind from birth ... yet when I see what he is capable of, it amazes Me! He can pick out cassettes and CDs by feel, identify cars from the sound, and even tell Me which perfume I am wearing ... and that's just a small sample of his skills! The truth is, when one sense is absent, the others become even more highly tuned.

I think you need to think about how your other senses have become more highly tuned and how you can use this to your advantage as a Dom. For eg, I am sure you will be more highly observant than many people. This means you probably won't miss a thing with your sub! Wonderful for training purposes. As someone else suggested, turn your deafness into a unique advantage by setting up a "special" language of signs for you and your sub. Think of it, with a flick of your hand you can have your sub serve you exactly as you want in public ... and everyone will be wondering how you do it! You can create special greetings and rituals which won't raise an eyebrow in your context. I would imagine that journalling would be an important tool, so that written communication can flesh out feelings and ideas that may be less well expressed by signs. Consider that a journal doesn't JUST have to be for the sub, nothing to stop a Dominant also writing one and sharing it with their sub. Master has done that on occasion and as a sub, i've loved reading it.

If you think through how your deafness can be an asset instead of a disability ... I believe your confidence levels will soar and will greatly enhance your chance of meeting a genuine sub instead of more fakes!
