UncleNasty -> Pitchforks and rakes at the capital steps (9/26/2008 5:48:47 PM)

How long before pithcforks and rakes, metaphorically speaking, become a toll and part of our behavior?

Just after Christmas, I imagine the Farmers will need operating loans.

If this dysfunctional Congress doesn't get its act together and come up with a viable Bill for saving our banking system I would guess we are within a month of torches and pitchforks being seen down Constitution Avenue.

You're really sold on this revolutionary idea, aren't you [;)] ?

I agree Utopian, it would be a wonderful thing.
I have not been to a good protest march in a while,
it is time to bring it!

Mia.... We do really need one - because these people think we're all ignorant and they're not afraid of anything.

I would settle for a peaceful, but an in-your-face ''throw the bums out'' aggressive march. I actually like the way the French come out in the streets when they're mad....

Aww, honey, yours are much too pretty to cover up, regardless of slogan.

I live about 15 minutes away from Washington D.C. so I have been
to plenty of protests.
I was at the big one in 2005.
It was wonderful.
There were thousands there, and I saw MANY um's there, even in carriages.
I was proud of all the young people there, and that people brought their um's.
This was the protest where the had headstones on the Mall symbolizing every
service person killed in the war.
It restored my faith in humanity and marching down Penn. ave. was won of my proudest
moments, since I protested the war in early 1990's.

I met a woman that drove down here from Vermont.
There were tons of college students, the bands were great, and people danced.
It was so peaceful, people were stretched out on blankets.
There were veterans there from the Korean war, and plenty from
the Vietnam war, who came out Bless their hearts.
Everyone should be involved in a great protest before the die.

Count me in the protest! Power to the people damn it!
