Nobody seems to have much good to say about politicians these days. Understandable to say the least. We exalt these people with massive salaries and perks, ostensibly so they would not need to take bribes, or because they are supposedly "worth it". Bullshit. How about we change the playing field a bit ? Let's say you sign up for military service, you basically signed away your life, and they control you completely at least during basic training. I say we make it the same for politicians, with a few enhancements of course. This is public service, and even though you make alot of money, you can't touch any of it until your term is up. You live in barracks, every need is tended to, but you are NEVER alone. You are not allowed to be alone ever during your term of service. You can't touch money or any other financial instrument. You are watched 24/7. Every conversation is recorded and is available to the public. You tell people what you want whether it is a filet mignon or a hooker, and all these things are provided by the taxpayer, which would be cheaper than the system we got now. You are not permitted to be alone with anyone except your Wife or Husband. Everything you say and do is on the internet, for people to go through and decide if they will sentence you to further service at reelection time. Every deal you make, everything is a matter of public record. The way they do it now, calling it public service is a joke at best, and IMO an affront to those who really do serve, and offer up their life for US goals in the military. Make public service, really service. Decades ago the USAF told me I could test into an E4 position at least, that meant a hopping $1200 a month I believe back then, which wasn't all that bad. I still declined, I won't give up my freedom like that, and believe me folks I got freedom. I have been doing whatever I want whenever I want since I was about 12 years old. I would be stupid to give that up. However if the public elected me to a position of trust, why should I get any more than the enlisted Man who is going to risk his life for the policies and practices of this government ? I say they need a new uniform, and to be held to the standards of a soldier. Sure there is pot and drugs, Women and song, just like being in the army, but other things stop. There is always a camera in the office taping everything you do, and the only time the camera is off is when you are with your spouse. Nobody except your Wife and kids talk to you without the camera rolling. Nobody. They have proven that they can't be trusted, let's treat them that way. T
