Status: offline 		My sister and her girl were flying back from Paris back in 1980, and the girl had tossed her b.o.b. in her carry on at the last minute as they dashed out the door. They didn't have a problem with it going through, but took the batteries. Guess they wanted to limit "in-flight entertainment" to previously scheduled movies.

I can hear the newscaster now...
A hijacking plot was foiled this morning as 4 men and a woman were detained carrying highly suspicious "weapons". The guards removed the 5 passengers to an area well away from the public and examined carefully and extensively the weapons in question. When asked why they were attempting to board the plane with such things there was mention of a "distance club" and they gave visual demonstrations as to what the alleged weapons were used for. Once the guards were able to to shower and return to thier posts the Transgroaner Airway 747 was allowed to take off. The passengers, tired but smiling happily were allowed to continue their flight unheeded.

I agree with you that toys are carry on items. They are far too expensive and personal to leave in the hands of strangers.

Besides, it gives the airline check people something to talk about at break time.

In general I agree with you, however, I've learned "never say never". Because I've done it.

Lawrence "tied me up" within 4 hours of meeting me. Not in private. And, honestly, if I had wanted to get away, I could have. Impaling my mouth with his tongue kept me in place more than the bondage. And the knife he used to remove my clothes.

I also met a man in NY about 4 years ago. It was a blind date set up by a mutual friend. I trusted my friend very much, so I trusted this man. I met him, went home with him and I gave him carte blanche. It was a magical 3 days. We've been friends ever since. Lovers twice since. We rarely speak, but he will be a lifetime friend.

Sometimes you listen to your gut. And you take risks. But always, always someone knows where I am and who I'm with.

Since I've joined the boards, and I've read your posts you have come across as a quick-witted woman who seems to have it together. And I’m sure that you are very good at listening to your instincts and making good judgement calls.

In your situation with Lawrence, you were in public, so that doesn’t apply to my concern. When there is someone else present to keep things in check, it is definitely a lot safer.

As for your blind date, here is where your instincts really come into play. All I’m saying is that people have to be careful.

I for one, make it a rule not to tie someone up the first time we play. And my rationale for this is quite complex but in essence, it’s because trust is still being built. Like you however (and you are right, “never say never”), I have broken my rule once or twice using my instinct.

I guess that since we were discussing best practices for a first meeting, I would suggest that a best practice would be no bondage.

The second night I was with Lawrence, he took me to the local bar where he's a regular. Afterward, he told me we were taking the scenic route home. He pulled into a dark parking lot, drove the motorcycle through weeds, and stopped. It was 1am. It was very dark. He told me he wanted to tie me to the bike.

My trip went wonderfully. It was a "meet & greet", no expectations just getting too know each other. I had a great time! We both were quite pleased with the whole experience. We are currently discussing the intimate details of making this a more permanent situation.

He went on checking for what seemed forever and came across a strap - on. #2. Tired legs, feet, and not to mention a very slippery airport floor...'nuf said.

You will never get the first time back with this person so treasure it and have fun.

It is. I cook and took my knives on a trip from Toronto to LA. On the way back the TSA searched my checked baggage (where the knives were) and put a seal on the bag along with a little note saying what they'd done.

The upside was my "suspicious" baggage was first off the plane.

I know many have given you a ton of good advice. It's such an exciting time, not knowing, but hoping. Try and go with the mind set of making a new friend and having some fun - then anything else is just icing.

I do hope that you have your personal sexual health in mind also. Remember that any Top/Master worth your time, trouble and gifts will not "order" you to perform any sexual acts without Proper protection.
