I actually made alot of money. I think they calling "going short". But I'm not sure.

But, I'm one of those people who knows for fact that one guy couldn't have done all this by himself in 8 short years, and I paid attention for over 16 years when economic experts were saying this was going to happen.

Go back to civics class folks. Our system is based on checks and balances so no one arm of goverment can abuse their power. What that means is: if the president is at fault, the congress and judiciary are equally to blame.

While we argue amongst ourselves over democrat vs republican, conservative vs liberal, the people who are supposed to be answering to US have taken over. On both sides. Republicans and Democrats are equally to blame for this mess. Whether your party loyalty will allow you to believe it or not.

If you have followed my posts at all you would know that, not only do I blame all those in office in Washington, I also blame the American public.

Very few of us are blameless in this fiasco.

Big picture people, big picture.

How convenient to place the blame on the American public. In my opinion they are well informed of the issues that plague the country. Don’t believe me? Look for yourself…all 17 pages of it.

Several things, but I'll be brief.

The media is not evil per se. The media has, however, been increasingly lazy, sloppy, definitely not thorough, crafting a story instead of doing the investigation.

This is not to condemn all media stories. Many excellent reporters continue to work in this fluffy atmosphere, publishing good stuff.

And that's where readers come in. I read so much bullshit about how the media this and the media that, sometimes from people who clearly don't read it, and often in extremely contradictory terms: "The media stereotypes women and contributes to women starving themselves," for example, when 2/3 of all Americans are obese. It's an excuse---and a stupid one.

The government, on the other hand, has been heavily playing on our emotions for decades, leading people seeking simplistic answers to enthusiastically vote against their own best interests.

Blame anyone, but thinking belongs to the person doing it----or pretending to do it, or listening to what to think without thinking.

first, i have again posted (below) an article from 1999 that clearly indicates it was the CLINTON ADMINISTRATION that started this whole mess in the first place. second, CLINTON signed NAFTA and other such bills causing all kinds of ruckus. third, there are lots of other things the Democrats have done that have made a mess.

i'm not saying President Bush is the best that ever lived. but start taking responsibility for the Dem's bullshit while you're being so adamant the Republicans are the devil's own.

In a move that could help increase home ownership rates among minorities and low-income consumers, the Fannie Mae Corporation is easing the credit requirements on loans that it will purchase from banks and other lenders.

The action, which will begin as a pilot program involving 24 banks in 15 markets -- including the New York metropolitan region -- will encourage those banks to extend home mortgages to individuals whose credit is generally not good enough to qualify for conventional loans. Fannie Mae officials say they hope to make it a nationwide program by next spring.

Fannie Mae, the nation's biggest underwriter of home mortgages, has been under increasing pressure from the Clinton Administration to expand mortgage loans among low and moderate income people and felt pressure from stock holders to maintain its phenomenal growth in profits.
