cloudboy -> Time to Thank 2004 Bush Voters (9/29/2008 10:26:13 PM)

>Duke University finance Prof. Campbell Harvey predicts there could be 750 to 1,000 bank failures over the next six months because of billions in bad assets stemming from the housing meltdown.<

I would like to thank all you BUSH voters for keeping him in office, otherwise he could not have brought his disastrous touch abroad back home. First he wrecked a sovereign nation from without, now he might bring another to its knees from within.

His tax cuts gave us $2 Trillion in new debt. Now his domestic policy might ruin our economy for the next decade.

But at least you'll have Fox News, Rush Limbaugh, the NRA, family values, the Christian Coalition, and the Creationists to fall back on.

Keeping him those extra four years undoubtably may win him the top spot as the WORST PRESIDENT ever.

Newsflash: McCain has sided with BUSH 91% of the time.

TheHeretic -> RE: Time to Thank 2004 Bush Voters (9/29/2008 10:29:39 PM)

'04 was the Democrats election to lose as well.  Thank yourselves.

cloudboy -> RE: Time to Thank 2004 Bush Voters (9/29/2008 10:35:29 PM)

The electorate put Bush back in office in 2004. They get the credit. The electoral college gets credit for 2000.

TheHeretic -> RE: Time to Thank 2004 Bush Voters (9/29/2008 10:48:56 PM)

Right.  And the Democrats gave them what to choose from?

How many votes did Kerry cost himself right here?

TabrisMaceth -> RE: Time to Thank 2004 Bush Voters (9/29/2008 11:07:41 PM)

Hey, Kerry's stoned. Cool.

I hope you're not trying to blame bush for the housing meltdown. If so, I'd like to see you back it up.

What percentage of the time would a good politician vote against Bush? Can you just toss a coin and vote against him 50% of the time and get better results?

A simple policy that has served me my entire adult life, if the majority of Republicans are for something it will cause me harm somehow someway. OTOH if the majority of Democrats support something it will be something that improves my situation. This has worked in all cases without fail.

Wasnt it in Clinton's administration that the lending industry was basically ordered to make loans available to more people (trying to be as PC as possible) who would have otherwise been considered a bad risk, threatening the mortgage and finance industry with fines and sanctions if they didnt?
http://www.amazon.com/tag/politics/forum?_encoding=UTF8&cdForum=Fx1S3QSZRUL93V8&cdThread=Tx3JQJ161HMTA1N

And didnt a good portion of the country do it to themselves? Refinancing when markets were already down low, borrowing what they knew they couldnt afford, defaulting on loans and mortgages.  People can try to lay the blame on whatever powers that me are in or trying to get in office. Whatever happened to some good old fashion accountability.
Oh yea..... thats not in the democratic theory is it? Bigger goverment, more programs, more entitlements...  lets just hold everyone's hand and not force them to be accountable.

What ever happened to the adage,"Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day; teach him to fish and he will eat for a lifetime".

rosegarden:
You left off the ending, which sums up the probelms in this country:

teach him to create an artificial shortage in the fish market and he will eat steak.

It's all about greed and not being satisfied with what you have.

So 8 years wasn't enough time for Bush to implement his own policies?

Always hilarious to listen to Republican logic.  Clinton wasn't responsible for the economic success during his Presidency.  It actually was the Republican Congress who should be credited.  Now that we have an economic meltdown after Republican control of the White House and Congress for most of the last 8 years it's really not the fault of Bush or the Republicans.

Sure, I can see that.  It really is all Clinton's fault.

I dont recall saying it was all Clinton's fault.  I said that's where it started. I also said that many Americans got themselves into the mess. I find it amusing that you make ASSumptions of one's political stance so easily.
Or am I required to want freebies and handouts to be a Democrat? If so, I guess I need to turn in my registration card.
I guess I missed the fine print that says I have to agree with everything the party does to be a member.

Well, I don't know.  Let me think.
Oh yeah, now I remember.  [sm=meh.gif]

I guess it was where you said this:

"Wasnt it in Clinton's administration that the lending industry was basically ordered to make loans available to more people (trying to be as PC as possible) who would have otherwise been considered a bad risk, threatening the mortgage and finance industry with fines and sanctions if they didnt?"

How silly of me to assume you were trying to imply he was at fault.

LaTigresse -> RE: Time to Thank 2004 Bush Voters (9/30/2008 4:25:36 AM)

That's okay, I think that there is a high probability that many of the putzs that voted Bush into office also lost ALOT of money yesterday.

Retribution.

SilverMark -> RE: Time to Thank 2004 Bush Voters (9/30/2008 4:34:44 AM)

In '04 we as a nation were in the middle of an armed conflict and the last time a President was voted out in the middle of an armed conflict was?....Hmmmmm....
It wasn't the Democrats election to lose and had Kerry won it would have been an amazing feat.
No, he didn't help himself but the politics of Rove and company did a wonderful job of killing his chances... Rove for his faults and believe me, I have no love for the guy is a marvelous political strategist as far as stretching and mis-stating and Winning!....I think he is detetable but smart at playing on the edges.

You are on the mark here.
The Republicans will NOT take the blame for their 8 years of failed policies.
Everything is Clinton's fault!
They could do nothing to build up or repair anything in 8 years!
Now they want 4 more years to continue to do NOTHING to build up our country?

Shame on the current Administration for not taking the blame on anything.
Has anyone SEEN President Bush lately?
He might as well resign, he is looking worse every day.

If Senator Obama made half the mistakes of George W. Bush, he would be RUN out of town.
I want President Bush's 8 years of failed policies written down.
Don't you DARE judge Senator Obama as a President harsher than you judged George Bush!
Because President Bush will go down in history as one of the worse Presidents in US history.

The next President is stepping into a country that has been literally run into the fucking ground.
It will take at least 4-8 years to start to dig out of the crap hole President Bush has left this country sitting in!

pahunkboy -> RE: Time to Thank 2004 Bush Voters (9/30/2008 4:41:35 AM)

Dude!   We have not had a terrorist attack.

We are "safe".   2004 was all about terrorism.

LaTigresse -> RE: Time to Thank 2004 Bush Voters (9/30/2008 4:45:13 AM)

Oh yeahhhhhhhhh, I am feeling REALLY safe now. NOT!

thishereboi -> RE: Time to Thank 2004 Bush Voters (9/30/2008 4:49:19 AM)

Yea, It's just too bad that the democrats didn't give us somebody worth voting for. If they had, maybe things would have been different.

kittinSol -> RE: Time to Thank 2004 Bush Voters (9/30/2008 5:32:44 AM)

Kerry would have made a perfectly decent president. His presidency wouldn't have ended in the debacle and embarrassment that is accompanying Bush's, for sure. The man has balls, and he has class, he didn't dodge going to Vietnam, and he speaks foreign languages. Maybe that's why more people didn't vote for him.
