One big difference between steel and plastic on the skin is the porosity of the materials. Plastic, which is obviously less dense, has a more open grain structure which is why it chaffs the skin more than steel. It looks and feels smooth until you look at it greatly magnified. To the skin it is more abrasive than polished stainless steel. Some metals are also rough at that level, like cast aluminum, while forged or cold rolled stainless steel have a very fine grain. Some baby oil on the skin helps to keep plastic from abrading, or use a Tool Dip latex coating to keep the device from sliding as much. When you start wearing your device, you will experience many things by the third to fifth days that you have never felt before... you will see women and your woman in a new light! Go for it! However, if you work with any women who wear shorts skirts you will be in for some suffering. Be careful to keep these feelings to yourself until you get home... your keyholder will have some real power over you now. Enjoy!
