Duckiemine -> RE: Speaking respectfully and other oddities (10/5/2008 8:18:11 AM)

Hello,

This post got my attention, simply because my room mate and I were just discussing the rules of our apartment..lol. Anywho, I (eventhough I'm 19, and in the scheme of things just a young'un lol) was raised with what my peers look at as really old fashioned views on respect and common curtesy.. I say thankyou and please, I open doors for others behind me, I try not to curse ( but I can't seem to *not* ask inappropriate questions in bars/clubs that I go to...), I don't spit, I've always said Sir and Ma'am to people older than I and usually get "I'm only 20-something, my mother/father is the Ma'am/Sir... If I have to burp, I always do it quietly and behind my hand or a napkin, I chew with my mouth shut..lol.. and all these things are very natural to me... I tip in resturants..
However, I do refer to my self as a bitch at times, simply because even if you're polite, at times people will refer to you as a bitch because of that...and well I would rather beat people to the punch I suppose.
