Midol is your friend! I have noticed that my crankiness has gotten worse over the last few years. Most times I don't even realize I'm doing it until I'm slamming cupboard doors because the paper didn't arrive on time.[:-] I've started marking on my personal calendar, the days when this little emotional era begins and for me, I can almost pinpoint the hour it begins. It helps to know, believe it or not. Lol. So my suggestion would be for you to do the same. Stay alert to yourself and how you're reacting to things around you. Take a deep breath and walk away if you have to. Lock yourself in the bathroom with a book for half an hour. Take a walk. Go watch a show. Distract yourself and tell those around you what's happening, that you need a few minutes of nothing. Sometimes, just a hug from someone understanding helps that moment to pass. Communicate what you're feeling, even if you're not sure what you're feeling - just don't fall in the habit of chalking every disgruntled or out of whack emotion to 'that time of the month'. I'm sure your partner will be willing to help you through this if you keep sharing what you're experience, even if it's a need to be alone for a short while. At work, I find a different task to work on until I'm calm, cool and collected to come back to the one that frustrates me at that time. (This is not always possible, I know, but over time - it does get easier to control) I think of it as close to quitting smoking. Those 'nic fits' that send emotions cartwheeling through your mind but you're fine 15 minutes after it's passed. I know this isn't for everyone, but it's what helps me. And Midol. Midol really helps me. I think I should buy shares in the company. [:D] I hope this helps you too.
