Is it just me misinterpreting - or are Republicans coming across as seriously rattled by the prospect of the upcoming election for the Whitehouse?

Or are the (to me) sometimes angry and sometimes incoherent pronouncements I'm hearing from this camp, just their way of dealing with the subject regardless?

The contrast between pronouncements by those backing the Republican candidate(s) with those backing the Democrat candidate(s) - and the candidates themselves is striking.

Its no secret that I think Obama is the person that's needed to inject some inspiration in the US and so the western world in general, but I'd hope that it wasnt clouding my perception on this - perhaps others could let me know?
