lusciouslips19 -> What book's are available focusing on "safe"? (10/6/2008 8:19:46 AM)

Are there books out there that focus on the "safe" part of safe, sane and consensual?" I am having issues with my Sir making me to feel safe. Hes great with the D's aspect but goes off half cocked on the physical parts. I have talked to him about having to know how to keep me safe. Safety is very important to me. I know what sites should be avoided and signs of pain as this involves my profession.

But are there reference books out there that show what to look for after tieing someone in say a rope bra or how to know when its time to take the nipple clamps off? Basically a book focusing on medical safety?

A lot of Jay Wiseman's early work is at least partially devoted to safety issues (though his more recent interest is in BDSM related law).  "SM101" might be a good start.  And he has most of his online writing available at Submissive Women Kvetch (http://members.aol.com/oldrope/).

Personally I'd go with apprenticing myself to learn to do a lot of bondage and SM safely but if that is not possible, here are some books I can think of:

On the Safe Edge by Trevor Jacques

Safe, Sane, Consensual & Fun by John Warren

If you have specific activities you'd want books about, send me an email and I can get some suggestions for you. Again though I think learning from more experienced tops is the best way to go in such cases...

Echoes what I have put in bold text! This was the very first book I read and it was highly recommended to myself from a Master whom I hold a great deal of respect for.
