How right you are there. When my mom passed I didn't think things could ever be worse then that. Then I rediscovered my relationship with my dad. We finally got close after all these years so when he passed a year ago on Mother's Day I knew things could be harder to deal with then my mom dying. Gosh I miss those rose colored glasses.

Status: offline 		Thoughts to all who are undergoing stressors in their lives!

Frustrating time here! Sept was a bitch, though I finally got past the flu and asthma after buying a nebuliser and doing Darth Vader impressions! (The cat did NOT approve! ). Took a trip to Perth to sort out My elderly mother's house and mountains of stuff (why did she have 4 toasters, 5 fans, 3 stereos, 3 vacuum cleaners etc etc ... all of which worked??) as she has finally accepted that she needs to go into full time care. She's 85, mentally fairly good, physically totally stuffed, she's been bedridden for about 2 years but now can't even transfer from bed to commode on her own. It was a physically and emotionally draining time which I can summarise as "never has so much been done for one so patently ungrateful". Well, she was actually downright abusive about the amount of money we managed to generate from the garage sale ... but that's another story! In amongst that, Master lost His job through a pretext, and I got shortlisted for the Uni job that would enable Us to keep living here for the next 3 years. Interviews would be when I was in Perth, so instead I did a phone interview just before I left (fun, one of Me and 6 of them!). Nearly a month later ... still waiting to hear the outcome! But they did take 6 weeks to come up with the shortlist after the applications closed so I shouldn't be too surprised I guess! Nw I'm wondering if I want to work for them if they are so slow!

So October so far is a waiting game. IF I get the job ... We stay in this area for the next 3 years though We may move into a cheaper house in town to save interest payments and petrol. And I keep searching for a sub (I really do NEED one at the moment, Jay is getting very antsy!). While I felt fairly good about the interview, they did ask a lot about local networks and having been in this area only a year or so, I don't have those well developed, so if I don't get it, I'd understand if they choose a local. If I DON'T get the job ... We really can't afford to stay and keep eating into the equity in the house ... and while gigs are starting to come in, they don't pay well enough to keep Us going indefinitely. And We could seriously use a roadie for the packing up at the end of the night! So then it would be sell up. buy a bus or a 5th wheeler and take off around Australia as a touring band! And start My PhD on the way (if I ever get through all the damned forms by the closing date of the end of this month!). That's as long as My back (which got wrecked in Perth and on the long flights) ever manages to come good so I can focus on something other than bad pain!

Oh dear, I am sorry it is such a whinge! Just hard to see the bright side at the moment. But good to see the brightness in the lives of others ... good luck with the new dog pixel! And warm smiles to LadyPact for the wonderful way She is teaching and guiding you, what a fortunate man you are! And congrats to DV and Your lovely boy, though condolences on the loss of Angel. That obviously happened when I was away. And good luck Jewel, surely Yours must be out there somewhere!

My brain's about fried now so it must be time for bed.

October? Already? Sheesh didn't we just do September?
 
As Geoff said, he is 800 miles from his old home, I am over 2,000 miles from mine. When we decide to do something, we go all out lol No regrets! I am loving every minute and every inch of the man I have chosen to wear my collar. There is nothing boring about our relationship, that's for sure!
 
On other news, I am definitely going to get into the guide dog school in Michigan (Look out F!) hoping for October, but might be November.
 
Some of you know the other news in our lives, a little personal for here, but needless to say I am extremely happy with the choices I have made :)

Status: offline 		I'm a little late chiming in.  Lots of stuff going on here.

For starters, I'm sitting here doing My nails getting ready for...............  DOM CON!  I've been packing the bags on and off during the week to be ready to get to one of Atlanta's biggest BDSM events of the year.  I have to say, it's been too long since I've been in Atlanta, and I am so looking forward to seeing those that I've missed so much.  Also, I'll be getting to say hello in person to some folks that I've only known from the screen, which is always fun.  If you happen to be going, feel free to say hello.  I'll be the redhead with the boy on the red leash.

That's My way of saying clip's home.  Yes, after three long months since his graduation, My collared sub has made it back to My feet.  I can't tell you how good it is to have him here again after all of this time.  Even better, he came back with longer hair.  Needless to say, My little bundle of energy has been diving right in here taking care of the chores that I neglect when he is gone.  Part of that is the excitement from being back in addition to being revved up in anticipation for the event.  Due to personal schedule, he's still waiting for his first good beating, but I'll be taking care of that soon.  I'm sure I'll have plenty to report on those areas next month.

Since bleaux already made his contribution to the thread,  I won't add to it here.   There are always challenges when it comes to these areas.  This is especially true when the green eyed monster does show up.  The important thing is recognizing it for what it is and moving forward.

Of course, hubby can't make Dom Con from Korea.  However, the travel plans for the holidays have been settled on his end and I will be very happy to see him again in just a couple of months.  I try to keep him informed about all of the things that are happening stateside, but sometimes, there just aren't enough hours in the day.  Trying to juggle everything and everyone all at the same time takes more effort than most people would think.  Just trying to keep everyone connected is a task in itself.

Thanks to everyone who contributed to the thread.  I always enjoy hearing what everyone is up to.  For those of you who are facing challenges, My thoughts are with you.

When we cleaned out my father's house after he passed away last year, I found a bottle of shampoo in the hall bathroom.  It was a honey wheat brand that I used back in the late 70's.  Yep.  It had turned to amber!  But it was still there!

I'm slow at getting this posted.  Been a very busy time so far.  Had slave Mike come visit for a week.  He was my driver and attendant the entire time and we covered some miles for sure!  It will take him some time to recover from this trip and I have promised him that the next trip won't be so hectic. 

I did a wedding in Columbus, Oh on the 4th for some dear friends, got home on the 5th to a BBQ & party being held at my home... and the most important news was that my daughter and soon-to-be son-in-law had managed to drive in on Sat night and was finally moving here.  She spent a few months in the UK with him, and he flew back to the states a couple weeks ago.  Their wedding is on the 31st so it's a super hectic next few weeks!

My poly relationship is getting closer and closer each day.  We discovered while I was gone those few days, just how much we all meant to one another and how we really wish to make this more permenant.  So, we have decided to become handfasted as a triad on Yule.  So, another wedding to plan. ;)

My *husband's* parents are flying in on the 18th for 10 days and that is really going to put a damper on the entire month... I will probably go stay with my daughter to finish up the wedding plans while they are here.  It would be too difficult to try to explain to them who I am and why I am living here like I am.  They haven't even met the primary wife and they've been married 8 years now.  Throwing a secondary wife in would really be confusing.

Anyway-- busy month and I am tickled!

Status: offline 		hello to everyone here and i'm so sorry to hear of the hurts and losses.  it's never easy watching those you love fade.  for the happy news, wonderful!!  just fantastic to hear these points of happiness.  i have been in a nursing home since aug. 22, recovering from three surgeries on the left foot and a massive infection that could have possibly cost me the foot if not a good portion of the leg. I had been hospitalized awhile before that, spent about 8 days in the hospital.  too much hospital type food for me, yuk!

I've had 40 days of IV antibiotics since the final surgery and i'm home five days and got a headcold.  i'm going to be a hermit this winter, don't need extra exposure during the colds/flu season.  my immune system is compromised enough!  so i'm finally home, coping with all the hustle and bustle of the family and the house.  cub did a fantastic job of playing mr. mom while i was gone, he's really incredible the way he can take charge and make it work even when he's not used to having to do that.  he's just a doll!  we celebrated our 6th anniversary on the 7th.  i've been busy studying for my classes while i was gone, it was all i had to do besides watch tv or talk with half senile residents.  so far i have excellent grades, mid terms are coming up here in the next week, so we'll see how things really look. 

i'm happy to see so many familiar faces after being gone so long with no CM access for over a month!  ack!  thought i was going into withdrawal.  best wishes to all for a wonderful month!

Status: offline 		October has been a hectic month for me also.  Sorry to hear about your father Lashra.  I know what it is like to watch someone fade away.  My father had Alsheimers and lived with us for 10 years.  He was 91 when he passed.
Keep up the good work with the 4.0  that is super!!!
Everyone keeps saying the economy is bad, but I am self employed in Texas and business has never been better.  I am not sure what is going on.  I am involved in the housing market and I meet myself coming and going.  Really strange.
My Son is in Houston working as a FEMA inspector helping those people out.  He is working 14-16 hours a day, 7 days a week...LOL  sure cuts down on his beer drinking!
The weather here has been super and it is coming into one of favorite times of the year.  Halloween is just around the corner followed by Thanksgiving and then Christmas...lots of fun in the next 3 months.
I have signed up for a wine tasting course at the local Community College...I am not sure I have the ability to concentrate like you are suppose to going to school.  This should be interesting, both from the aspect of learning about wine...and the real challenge of do I still have the capability to learn!
