Status: offline 		Just passing this on to the rest of you guys. Greedy thinks the electrical storm burned out her computer. She  asked me to pass on to you guys that she will not be on during the days till its fixed.
Lets all hope that its nothing major.

Status: offline 		Just for grins.....one of the girls I work with got the blue screen of death on her computer.  Gave her my windows cd to see if she could get it on her hard drive.....she got some "file is corrupted" message or something like that...called Dell, her computer was no longer under warranty, so she paid $50 to be told to hit <CTRL F5>.....computer popped on as if nothing had ever been wrong with it!  She took it back to a restore point, and hasn't had a bit of trouble with it since......

Technology SUCKS!!!!

Um... K... my Mac tower's power supply is fried, it's UPS had its batteries and inverter circuits blow up, and the circuit breaker in the box are melted from last night's lightning barrage. Even Macs aren't immune from damage or destruction when the power circuits they're attached to take direct hits from lightning.

We got directly hit twice within 30 seconds last night. The first one was soaked up by the lightning arrester installed by the power company, but because it's a manual reset job, I couldn't get to it before the second bolt struck (it's installed on the power meter outside of the building), the lightning discharged through the building's electrical system. Apparently, my Power Mac was the chosen path. Well, that and the A/C circuit too.

It was some seriously powerful and frequent lightning we had yesterday afternoon and into the night. They don't call Central FL the lightning capital of the US for no reason.
