Everytime I think I'm living a crappy life, I tune into one of those shows the religious channels run, about the famine or other natural disaster that is threatening to wipe out entire areas of the globe. It's a reminder of just how cushy I have it. And then I usually send some money in to something like the United Way, or Save the Children Foundation. (I stay away from religions that broadcast begathons) In the end, I feel much better about how I'm doing. Sorry your ex boyfriend had a hard time in the latter part of his life. I lost my Dad this last spring, and thanks to a lifetime of exposure to farming chemicals and dust, he didn't have a pretty time of it in his last couple of years. Asthma, diabetes, pulmonary infections, the onset of alzheimers... it pretty much sucked for him too. So, I can relate. The end will never be as we imagine it. I'm just glad I'm here, now, and have such wonderful people around me as friends. I hope you have some in your life too. They always help.
