I have to say i like the laws and support them for a lot of reasons. everyone thinks its all about them thats not true. they are after really bad bad people. who are hidden in our mist. our comunites have not done a good job educating people. there are people who sale kids into slavery in our comunities or hurt families who are hidden in our lifestyle you would be shocked to who they are what they do i am giving kudos to the good guys and supporting them in anyway i can. Now you can whine about invasion of privcy. you can whine about being raided and all that stuff but as you do look into a moms face as she is telling you how her child was kidnapped by some perv or someperson with deviant tendences. tell her how unjust these laws are how selfish we are we only think of things in one way not for the good of all But in this lifestyle over the many years it been proven to me that were else can you find more conceded self centered all about me people
i beleave in family bush and country for with out them you have nothing but that little mind going all about me shrugs just my point of view

Unfortunately some think they are standing alone as they out themselves and their actions have a serious backlash on the rest of the community around them. The rest of the community having no choice in how their lifestyle choices are being publisized even if their names are not being used. I watched it happen in Denver, and watched many sacrifice how they wanted to practice their lifestyle choices, for how they felt they could safely practice it simply because a few became too outspoken and took a bad thing to the level of being a disasterous thing for the community as a whole.

I'm very out, always have been, always will be. I can't possible see why I'd live my life in a closet -- to borrow a homosexual term.

I don't do it political reasons or for clubs, I do it for me and my family and out of respect for our chosen lifestyles.

I personally think that if more people were just as out about being kinky as they are out about being anything else (religion, sexual orientation, politics, etc), pretty soon it frankly wouldn't matter to most people. I really don't think it matters much to most people now just those who like to make a lot of noise or money off of that noise.

There has to be some truth to this. I logged in one morning a couple of months ago and unlike other normal mornings that showed about 100 or so users with the usual 40 or 50 regulars here there were about two thousand users on...all were viewing as guest. Someone somewhere must have been discussing something and they all came over to see. Who knows...a religious group? government agency? just a random group? coincidence? By the end of the morning they were all gone. Got me thinking though.

My bet is that what you were seeing was just a quirk in the system.

Just for the record -

There are many good people in law enforcement... there are many people in law enforcement who press charges in issues where they would rather not... but, that is their job and duty... there are many people in law enforcement that are perverts and involved in WIITWD....

Let's not forget that as we start slinging sh*t about on the boards.

If you do not like a law - work to get it changed... if an officer violates the law, then press chages against him for violating it -

But, do not condemn them because we have the laws that the people allow.

So.....since we have their captive attention.....why not tell them how we feel?

Dear Police/Officer/Sir/Maam,

I understand there needs to be laws to protect society and its citizens, i do feel however that some of the laws are outdated, in Australia for example, we still have a really old law in place saying a husband may beat his wife legally with anything that has a less diameter than his thumb (The rule of thumb). Now to me that could end up non-consensual very easily.

The thing with bdsm is, the people involved for the most part are doing so consensually. They do it for various reasons, whether thats to spice up their sex life, or to consciously live in roles of a dominant partner and a submissive partner and they are really happy to live this way. I dont think these kind of people should be judged harshly by the law.

Even people who are in the sex industry, if they are involved consensually and the people purchasing services are doing so consensually why is this a problem? Prostitution and porn material is probably the oldest professsion in the world. It's not going to go away. People who are not sexaully frustrated are probably the least likely ones to cause a problem in society, i think of the numerous priests who have taken vows of celibacy and all the problems that have stemmed from that involving the abuse of young children. I can say this from a totally non-defensive point of view as i am not, have not been, nor ever will be a prostitute or involved in the sex industry, heck i dont even look at porn...well not often...

Saying all this, i know you have to uphold the law even if you dont agree with it and i would just like to take this opportunity to say, do your job with dignity and with respect for the other human beings you are dealing with, even if you dont agree with what they are doing or how they are living their lives. You have been given a job of responsibility and authority in society, please do not abuse it and become the same people you are supposed to be finding and capturing (real criminals). Law Enforcment is a noble job, its needed in society, live up to the ideal.

With whom? The police? The ones that did it in the first place? When Frank Salvati was arrested for the murder of Eddie Deegan, people protested. Some were arrested, others had their places of business closed by "government inspectors" for "health and safety violations." People even went to the FBI... who turned their names over to the Boston police for "further action."

It took years and a LOT of press coverage until a court released Frank. They couldn't release this friend who had been arressted at the same time, he had DIED in prison.

Preferring charges against a cop or a group of cops is a risky thing unless you have a very clear case and have already gotten several media outlets interested.

I'm deliberately using a non-bdsm, non-sexual case here. In actual fact, we are a lot less likely to prevail since we are "sexual perverts" or at least that's how the police can well present us.

Sometimes you can go to another police force higher up the food chain, like the State Police or the FBI, but you have to be careful even then. In the Salvati case the FBI was in on the frame so they could protect their informant Whitey Bulger.

Speaking as a government employee let me say this. Ya, I'm not in law enforcement, but I get stuck in the same boat more or less. I have my own personal opinions about most things in life. Unfortunately, because I raised my right hand 6 years ago and said I swear to defend the constatution, ect ect ect, I gave up my right to certain things. I for instance gave up my right to exercise free will in some cases. If one of my officers tells me to do something, even if I am totally against it, short of it being an illegal order, I must follow it. Some of you have asked why we do a job where we have to do something we totally disagree with. My short answer is if not you, then who? Someone has to protect our countries citizens, enforce the laws, ect. Even though we may not agree with every law we enforce or action we take, we don't have the liberty to selectively choose what we are or aren't going to do. Someone who makes a lot more money then me said that this was that, so I have to follow there lead. Were we can still make a difference no matter what we are told, is in how we present ourselves. Ya the officers in that raid were probably following orders, but I seriously doubt that they were under orders to act like the jack-asses that they were. The people who do their job for the right reasons, are the people who will always treat someone with the upmost respect, even if you think that person is total scum. I am by no means defending how these guys conducted themselves, all I am saying, is give the ones that really are just trying to make our lives a little better a break.
