What matters to me is who the person is and their personal integrity, not so much what they've done or haven't done.

oceanwynds -> RE: beware of the squishy people (10/8/2008 5:54:40 AM)

I can't really address this to BDSM, but can in other walks in my life, I have seen this over and over. I guess it is something they need to do to perhaps overcome some of their insecurities. Maybe it is also immaturity, I do not really know. In my experience, a good dose of humbleness and being open to the fact no one knows it all goes well with living.

IN our lifestyle i have ran across some that brag about all the dommes or doms or even subs they have had. All the things they have done. How much pain or ds stuff they can take or do...

I have found this at all age ranges sizes and shapes. sexual oddities whos dones the most and such
it gets a little boring and uninteresting after know said people after awhile. whats the point of being with someone that has done seen or had it all. what could bring to the table to such a person. sometimes to much is to much .   have you ever ran into said peeps  what was your iimpression

I don't care one way or another. Braggarts tend to turn me off, regardless of what they are bragging about.

~fast reply~

I think that there's a difference between those who flaunt all the things they've done, and the people who just have a lot of experiences and are willing to be open to sharing their experience for those who need it.

The first sort I tend to be somewhat dismissive of, unless it is a small part of their overall nature and I like them well enough otherwise that it is a minor annoyance. The second type I actually cultivate as friends. People with a broad range of experiences are, in my opinion, great people to have as associates/friends/etc... if they've seen it, done it, been there and back, they usually have -cool- stories to tell, and I really love learning new stuff, so hearing about their experiences gives me an opportunity to explore something that I may not have a lot of knowledge about or something that I am curious about but not so much that I want to run right out and do it without knowing more.

I disagree with your perspective, doll!

I think that even if one has experienced EVERY little twisted and demented spiritual or sensual thing out there.... They are still a different person than the next. When you connect and give trust to that person in a playtime environment, you are connecting with them on a spiritual aura level. When two people come together their chemistry is different than any other. Whether it is just a flop or a deep connection, it will never be the same as the last or the next. Its a matter of stepping beyond fleshly experience and viewing it on a different sort of level.

Being there, in the special mindset will make the most out of any playtime :)

I don't mind people who have 'done it all' or even brag that they have when they haven't, that just makes them sad, but it's those who try to put down those who have done very little that gets me!!

WinsomeDefiance -> RE: beware of the squishy people (10/8/2008 12:33:30 PM)

I prefer the term - fluffy to squishy, aside from that - I've nothing to add.

I've been alive 53 years, with the last 10 in the lifestyle...I have 2 wives, 3 submissives, and several less-serious partners behind me.  I can't undo or unlearn the experience(s) that has given me nor do I want to.  That doesn't mean I know it all...there is no way I could nor could I have experienced it all.

That said...

If asked, or if I see a topic that interests me and in which I think my experience could be helpful, I will be forthcoming with information.  BUT, I don't volunteer, unasked information about how many pussies I've eaten, how many asses I've fucked, how many submissives I've made "weak in the knees" by the way I've flogged/spanked/caned/done sensation play with them, how many partners have sent me to ecstatic heights or how many submissives I've put into subspace.  To do so, unasked, is...in my opinion...bragging.  And I am a believer in the premise that most potential/present partners understand that I have a past...that doesn't mean they want to hear all about the glories of it.

Please send them all to the Uk, we really need all that hot air in the winter.

Stroke -> RE: beware of the squishy people (10/8/2008 2:50:35 PM)

If they really have "done it all", then they have been around the block wayyyy too many times.

So     -     what do you do with one when you catch it?

tazzygirl -> RE: beware of the squishy people (10/8/2008 4:49:30 PM)

compared to some, im a babe in the woods as far as experience.  i have done lots, lots still to go.  all i can say is....

what a beautiful ride!!

lovingpet -> RE: beware of the squishy people (10/8/2008 6:50:07 PM)

Nope!  I have no use of bragging.  I do like to listen and learn from the open, yet humble, insights of others.  I also believe that everything is fresh when it is approached with a new partner.

You guys have me giggling at the Bug Bunny references!

ResidentSadist -> RE: beware of the squishy people (10/9/2008 8:02:39 AM)

I just haven’t run into anyone that makes me think “sometimes too much is to much”.  I think of it more as levels and areas of interest.  Take caging as an example.  Some people have a lot of experience and want to live out the rest of their life in a cage.  Others are new and want to live in cage.  Either way, I have no “interest” in that kind of caging because what I get in exchange for all the care required isn’t worth it.  For someone else, this may be their ideal dream come true.    I would give my kingdom for a “hard as nails” ex-hooker/escort/dancer/actress/slave that has “done it all” while going “around the block” too many times and wants to settle down, take over the world and start a family.
