I was wandering for the Master's out there if they prefer their submissive/slave to be more of a masochist/pain slut rather than a needy little princess.  I am not trying to be a brat here fellows but I just needed to know to gain knowledge. I know exactly what my Master seeks, but he's very old school  and was trained by a Goren Master years ago. So Master has this very sadist side to him.. And does not like the word NO.....

There is no answer to that. Some like Door A some like Door B there is no one size fits all answer.

Why don't you give a situation and we can answer what we each indivdiually think about the situation.

Truth be told I am not much of a Sadist so I perfer a girl who is obedient over a pain slut.

I will tell you I am rarely interested in any person who is needy to refers to themselves as a Princess.

Just some food for thought.

Do you think that there are only pain sluts, brats, and princesses? Or that we can't be a little of all these things at times? I am somewhat of all three, and at the same time I am none of the above.

I would suggest that you not worry about what everyone else wants and just be yourself. Someone that will appreciate you for who you are will treasure you, or you can try the futile thing and attempt to change yourself to suit someone that does not like you the way  you are

I prefer a slave that doesnt need to pigeonhole themselves into a single title or description, but who can fill whatever role I want when I want it. Someone who is a one trick pony doesnt fulfill most of my needs, therefore isnt nearly as good a slave to me as someone flexible in their abilities.

There are many gradients between (and beyond) masochist/pain slut and needy little princess.  And just as many preferences to match.

I suppose "old school" is a very relative term, as the Gorean lifestyle itself is not very "old" (I don't believe it can be found in any form beyond the published books prior to the mid 1990's).

I wasn't aware that sadism was recognized in Gor.  In my conversations with rather learned Goreans, they universally deny B/D or S/M for pleasurable purposes (corporal punishment being reserved exclusively for behavior modification).  And I don't identify disliking the word "no" with sadism at all.

I've never taken a poll.  So I'm guessing here, but I'd say not all and maybe not most Masters seek a pain slut. (However, personally I have no problem working with a masochist.)

He prefers a needy little princess. He likes to indulge me, he loves for me to need him and he isn't a sadist.
I feel treasured and cherished when he does small things to indulge me and I am emotionally needy. We are a good match.

If you aren't a good match, then why did you agree to get into a relationship with whom you are not compatible and do not feel fulfilled?

It isn't about everyone else, it's about what works for you. So what do you need to be happy?

now i know that you are wanting a Dom's take on this, but i thought i would comment anyhow. just because S&M wise i happen to be a masochist/pain slut, i dont see where it takes away from my ability to submit, or be obedient. they are two seperate areas of my personality. i have yet to meet any person that fits into the defined box that any label describes.

Needy littlePrincess/Masochist pain slut? Not one for sweeping statements are you? What about the hundreds of styles in between? Naughty schoolgirls of all ages, female gladiators, french maids, naughty nurses, all the vast panopoly of womankind out there reduced to two myopic stereotypes.
I am a Dominant and my sights are a little higher than that. I need a strong, powerful woman who needs to be charmed and conquered into playing my way.
In my hands they can be as soft as they like, but please no needy princesses or pain sluts, reducto ad absurdam.

In my entirely subjective opinion based upon nothing but reading these forums and attending a few local events, I'd have to say that BDSM = SM is a pretty reasonable approximation of the truth.  D/s by itself, while technically included in the definition, does not practically manifest with enough regularity to be worth mentioning.  This is the single most concrete reason that I do not self-identify as BDSM.  As an aside, I suspect strongly that the goreans on the gorean forum would have real issues with your comments.  Out of curiosity, if your Master (and therefor you) are gorean, then why aren't you asking this question in the gorean forums where you would get more appropriate answers.

Kana:  I like hearing "no"and have instructed my wife carefully both when and how to say it.  So there ya go... there's one for you.  I haven't heard it yet, but if I ever do hear it, I'm going to be damned glad I did.

If I had to choose between the nastiest of sluts and the most masochistic submissive...it isn't the pain slut who will be licking my boots clean.

That said, what I seek is someone who compliments me, who enriches my life, who makes me burn with lust and laugh with joy.  All other things pale in comparison.

We've used light to perhaps moderate pain before, which I have enjoyed. I'm always careful and respectful of my partner's limits.
I've never had a "pain slut" as a partner, however.
I have to admit that I am curious to know what that might be like.
It's something I'd like to explore further, perhaps someday.

Um, wow. I am whatever Sir wants me to be, but He wants a lot more than either "pain slut" or "needy princess". He wanted a friend and a lover who was smart, fun and good company who obeys Him.

I've said it before but it bears repeating - labels put us in a small box with a terrible view.

I don't mind either of them without the term princess though because I'm a very sadistic person but also a very nurturing one. What i do prefer is a maso or at least a female that i would see as mid level.

If you can answer "It depends" to any given question, its a pointless discussion. In this case it's a two parter. A "Who knows" plus "it depends" (on the person/couple/relationship/level of pain. Everyone's different.
