I think the "debate" only matters when someone attempts to preach that their way is the only way and either convince or force others to follow along.
Honestly I think it would take many studies to identify if something was nature or nurture. In order to do an objective and serious study I suspect we'd need to do some immoral and ethical things for decades to multiple people.
Given the wide range of variety in human behavior, I'm lean far more to the nurture side of any debate but again how could we honestly test this?
