My husband and I met here :) For those of you who don't know, my husband is also Daddy :)
What is funny is that when we met here, we were in the same location.. then somehow he ended up in Alaska (could the military have something to do with this insanity, maybe) while I was still in Texas. We didn't end up meeting in person before he left the area.. which made it very nerve-wrecking flying to Alaska with my entire life in four suitcases and my only real assurance being the information I'd given to a few close friends and the feeling in my gut that it was what I needed to be doing. We got married a week later.. and I won't say it's all been roses and candy.. but I think we have a pretty solid relationship and I definitely know at this point that the decision I made almost a year ago (our first anniversary is in eight more days!) was a good one.
I actually thought he was kind of a moron and a jerk when he first started sending me messages. You know, the Doms who start hitting on you without even reading your profile or interests, and seem to think that being turned into a coffee table might turn you on, even though it is listed as a "Hated" activity... Eventually I saw a little bit of the real him come out.. and it got to the point that we started talking on the phone. Then I found out that he was actually very intelligent, thoughtful, and charismatic.. it just so happens he can't spell.. which completely throws off first impressions made via text. :P I guess he taught me a lesson that I'll never need to use again, though.. although I will say, had it not been for his persistence, I would not be where I am today.
I don't say this often... but I am so glad my husband is the stubborn, strong-willed person that he is. I feel like I'd be lost without him.
