Where is humanity going, what is our purpose here, why do we exist ? All questions with a myriad of answers depending on everyone's point of view, and perhaps the eternal question, the meaning of life.

But what is our future, is there something we have to do to move on, or do we just continue as we are, muddling around in circles making the same mistakes ?

Nature exists, it is there and it is us, we respond to the nature around us and the nature that is us, we remain the same and despite our greater learning, we still are just the same, no different from people thousands of years ago.

If that is so, we can recognise that fact, where do we go from here, are we destined to evolve into a greater being, or have we reached our peak of existence thousands of years ago ?

So, say the possibility is that we are destined to evolve, what will it take for that transformation to occur, what do we have to do to take that next step in our evolution ?

Just some ideas, ditch religion, ignore nature, ban history ?

A recent study suggests our DNA has reached the peak of its capabilities. We can only expect an additional 2-5 extra years of life on average in the developed world.

On the other hand,  recent studies could also suggest that the people doing the study have reached the peak of their capabilities.   I seem to recall there are other studies that say human's still use only a small portion of their brain.

A recent study shows that many Americans follow Rush's lead and just make up shit, citing vague studies.

As many simply believe these studies, human evolution does indeed seem to be frozen.

We know more about the human genome than at any other point in history. Knowledge is a collective and goes from one generation to the next and is not about the abilities of certain individuals. If you know how many genes there are you can obviously from maths see how many possible combinations of those genes there are. Thus we can easily say for sure what human evolution will bring in the long and short term. This is work done with international teams and stopped being about the ability of individual scientists a long time ago.

Have you thought that perhaps humanity isn't going anywhere, and that there is no goal to our existence? It's possible that we are just a quirk in a big empty vessel.

It's a myth that humans only use a small portion of their brains; they use a small portion at any one time and the better they become at a task the less of their brain is used for that task as it specialises in that task.

with Atlantis in mind it's possible that we are pawns in a game that will start again.

First off, there is "a recent study" suggesting virtually anything you want in any field. Without access to a direct citation, there is no way to evaluate the quality of it, and anonymous ones are generally absolute junk.

In this particular case, geneticists will freely admit they don't have a fundamental understanding of all of the complexities of DNA- while there is a solid grasp of the genes that code for proteins, the regulatory mechanisms are still quite poorly constrained. This is the most important reason that genetic-based medicine has not fulfilled its hype.

As to human development, we are still evolving much as we always have. If environmental selective pressures favor preserving us as we are, that's exactly what will happen (largely, this appears to be the case at the moment). If those selective pressures change in the future, humanity will change accordingly (or we will seize control of our own development with a more complete understanding of genetics).

Gee, you sure know how to kill a buzz.     hehe

To answere, we are heading toward a nuclear bomb over resources.

Most likely for Israel.

Too many rats in a cage can not last forever.

Some how some way- a major thinning of the population WILL OCCUR.  mark my words.

Also note that history repeats itself and we are not too smart- "this time is it different"  NOT!

The life could be extended to live to 125 years.

But resources.   The planet can not hold 7 billion.

So will the elite wipe you and me out?   Well- not if you are the servant.  The rich always need servants.

Eldery and disabled will have a "duty" to die.
when that doesnt work- that group will be killed off.
especially with the budget so broke.

A terrible disease will wipe out millions...maybe more. germs rotate.

understand that a bunch of jesus people think that certain events have to hapen. jesus people have teamed up with Jew the country, toward this vision, tho both actors are in it for competing reasons.  factor in others in the mid east that are viewed as animals, and expendable.

Add in that EU, China, US, have a gentrifying population. Old fartsville.

Humanity is currently experiencing a giant burp.

A ball of fire will come. Hopefully not in our lifetime.... but it will.   as will disease.....which will come in our lifetime.
