GIGGLEBOB -> Making new relationships (12/8/2005 6:27:11 AM)

I'm new to this iste and want to make new friends and hopefully start up a realtionship I can take into the rreal world. But what is the best way to spark up a online relationship in on a site such as this one? I'm very new to being online talking about bdsm with other people.

IrishMist -> RE: Making new relationships (12/8/2005 6:31:03 AM)

Start by finding someone who shares the same interests as you. Send them a nice hello note, and take it from there. You will probably get alot of 'not interested', but don't let that discourage you. There is always someone out there for each of us, just takes time and patience to find them.

By the Way...Welcome to the boards...Jump in the discussions, get known, have fun ......[:)]

Thankyou IrishMist. I'm glad to be here and you will see much more of me over time. Maybe it will give people time to know me a little more and maybe that will spark a few meetings online.

Welcome to Collarme and the boards. I too have been here less than a month.
I've met a lot of interresting people on here.

Just sit back, relax, enjoy the friendly people..... they're more here than you know

williebdenied -> RE: Making new relationships (12/8/2005 6:33:51 AM)

I know I am new here...but why do so many 'hello' notes not even receive a simple 'no thank you' reply email - they just disappear into the void?

I guess being sub, I could not imagine reading an email note from a Domme and not at least responding to the message.

Email from random strangers does not obligate a response. When you send email into the great wide yonder...forget about it. If you get something back, be happily surprised. If you don't, oh well.

Sometimes you've got to cast a wide net to get some good bites!
Check out profiles and send comments to the ones that you find interesting.
Or read the posts on the message boards and do likewise.

OscarHargraves -> RE: Making new relationships (12/8/2005 7:01:36 AM)

If you're here to look for a relationship then you will probably be disappointed. Don't expect anything. This isn't a dating service. Be honest, be fair, be truthful and be yourself. Fill out your profile in detail honestly and include at least one picture of yourself. Enjoy what's here for it's own sake and don't worry if you don't hear from anyone.

You can also look through the profiles of people nearest you and see if anybody has the same likes or interests. Then send them a note and say hi. If a friend is made, great! If a relationship forms from that, wonderful! But if that doesn't happen then just be happy to be here and learn things from the people here who have a LOT more experience.

Welcome to Collarme and the boards!

Welcome Gigglebob. I think you'll really enjoy the people here. I do. I've made lots of friends here. Don't be afraid to send a "hello" to someone. Not everyone will answer, but don't take it personally. Many will answer. Just be honest. Be yourself. Relax. If you're seeking a relationship...well, no one can guarantee that. But you might be surprised. Check out the boards. Ask questions. Have fun. Congratulations on finding this excellent place!

When I met my slave on here, I simply told her to get her "ass over to Me" and a year later, she's still with me. :-) Good luck.

My thinking is that many "hello notes" are just that....just a simple "hello" without much more.

When making contact with someone, a simple hello, is just a simple hello. It's a greeting, and nothing more, if you don't introduce yourself, and offer at least a hint to who you are and why you are contacting the person.

I've received many, many "hello" notes:
"hello"
"Hi, I'm from MI too."
"wanna chat"
"I read your profile. read mine."

These don't usually spark enough interest, in most people, to warrant a return e-mail.

My suggestion, for OP is to read profiles and do you best to comprehend the interest of the person. If they spark YOUR interest, send them a note and let them know why you're contacting them. Tell them who you are, and don't get overly excited in your introductory e-mail.

The usual other e-mails are:
"you are exactly what I'm looking for" (And I have to ask...which means what?)
"I love CBT and want you to use a strapon on me" (no other info in the e-mail, seriously)
"do you have smelly feet"
-the typical standard form letter, sent to ALL women, without any changes (including the former contact's name sometimes)

Be personal. Be yourself. Find someone that shares your interests and in located near enough to you to enjoy them in person. (Although I have many friendships that are based on online contact alone, I won't consider a casual partner at a distance.)

Good luck in your journey, Gigglebob.

K

LadyHibiscus -> RE: Making new relationships (12/8/2005 12:10:31 PM)

K and I get many requests concerning our elegant feet! (Which are non smelly, btw)

What I want to know is, how do they KNOW how great our feet are, from so far away? <G> Or is it just wishful thinking? My fave was the one who wanted me to walk outside barefoot and get all grubby so he could lick the dirt off! MmmmmmmmHM! Now there's a charming idea, eh?

jamesthehumanrug -> RE: Making new relationships (12/10/2005 10:19:08 PM)

greetings giggles
listen; online must be a lot of fun in this fun community all tho i never did any such thing
but you must be able to get away with a lot more than in person and you can be more honest
ie ,if i email a gman as opposed to trying to talk to a dj whos calling you sick to begin with.....
less predjudiced i would assume but,
who knows
there's no books on how,to charisma online
but it is out there

GIGGLEBOB -> RE: Making new relationships (12/12/2005 4:44:19 AM)

GIGGLEBOB -> RE: Making new relationships (12/12/2005 4:57:20 AM)

Do you "type" the same way you "talk"? Not everyone is able to do that. But it helps people get a good feeling for what you are all about.
