Oh I know the "voice"... it's standard equipment once you have kids. It also helps if you do any teaching of high school kids for any length of time. It's the one that says, "I wouldn't go there if I were you... trust me." I find that, used hand in hand with the "look" - highly effective.
He's used the voice on me maybe 3 or 4 times in five years. The last time He did, I was feeling equally as "RARRR" [>:] and it took everything in me not to "go there." He looked at me and said, "What?" (with the look) and all I could do was give the look back. I figured opening my mouth and letting out my redheaded demon wasn't going to be good for either of us, or the relationship. Later, in a sweet exchange, all Scarlet and mushy-like, I said, "Daddy, remember how irritated you were at me earlier?... I was pissed, too." He said, "Don't hold back, if you're pissed next time, be pissed, don't bite your tongue." I looked at Him all sweet and said, "Now, Daddy, I don't think either of us wants me to go there, do we? It'd just be ugly and the fallout wouldn't be worth it." He laughed and gave me a kiss on the head. [:)]
