Don't get me wrong I LOVE CHRISTMAS It is my ALl Time Favorite Holliday But I find that I want the mood to be Ushered in by the season ..... not the Music. Our little town starts up a Special Radio Station that plays Christmas Music 24/7 and it starts Monday November 3rd and even I who LOVES this Holliday thinks that's a little soon.

lol ... I LOVE Christmas, If I had a true death wish, I'd do Christmas all year
But I'm not talk'n the way over done, greedy, commercialized version ...*hurls*
EveryOne Hates that version

The only thing I wouldn't like about a 24/7 Christmas music radio station, is that like All Radio ... you're stuck also listening to the bits you dont care for

*thinking about it* ... On the offered list ... Silent Night also has some Really Beautiful renditions

( just thinking about it here ... I'd like to hear a Paul Van Dyk version of  "O Come Let Us Adore Him"  )

Thanks oso :)

I completely forgot my I-can-listen-to-it-over-and-over-anytime favorite: The Charlie Brown Chrismas CD by Vince Guaraldi :)

I also love "Cristmas Eve and Other Stories" by Trans-Siberian Orchestra.  Their video version of "Chritmas Eve: Sarajevo" has a great, beligerant, anti-war feel.  The image of the lone cellist playing in the midst of bombed-out building in a war zone is very powerful.

At least it is to me.

My favorite classic Christmas song is "Oh, Holy Night" by far.

My favorite contemporary Christmas song and one that always makes me cry is "Santa, I'm Right Here" by Toby Keith. It always reminds me that no matter what is going on in my life, things could always be worse.

Oy! I sing carols professionally - we're already rehearsing this time of year. So, they're either all my favorite, or I'm so tired of them I could puke.

(but I admit my favorite right now is Riu, riu, chiu.)

Why isn't "Amarillo by Morning" one of the choices?

"what child is this" (tune is "greensleeves")...esp when sung live by someone who can really hit that high "C"...sends a shiver down my spine.

From Potty's list:  Silent Night, Little Drummer Boy, I Saw Mommy..., A Chipmunk Christmas, and Frosty.

But i like The Carol of the Bells, too.

Alice's Restaurant
You're a Mean One Mr. Grinch
River by Joni Mitchel are the first ones that pop into my head. Also, there is a song by the Donna's I really like but can never find. From the list, I do like Chipmunk Christmas. I work in a place that has music playing overhead constantly. I am sure that I will gey sick of all Christmas music very soon.
