Yes, my educated, transplanted ass leaves the state for a week of vacation up north, and all hell breaks loose.  I stopped in for lunch at a wifi cafe, and what do my wandering eyes read?

He didnt "take one for the cause".  That coward put the burden he believes he carries onto his newborn, possibly for a lifetime if his wife doesnt stand up.  A proud moment for redneck America, showing everybody what its made of.

I did get a kick out of the comment from a reader wanting to know how to go about donating for the divorce.

That poor child... is there no way the mother can change the name back on the birth certificate?

I've been out of work for over a year and yet I'd still beg on the corner to send that woman money for a divorce and successful custody battle.  I really hope she can get it changed without too much trouble.  If he really wanted to "take one for the cause" he should have gotten his own named changed to "Sarah".

Calling this guy an "idgit" is an insult to hard-working idgits everywhere...

what a moron!!  and his wife is worse than he is for marrying him and reproducing!  she can't be that dumb to not notice the name on the birth certificate when she signs it.  then again, my aunt worked in a regional government office and filled out forms for some program for the public.  more than once she came across a girl child the mother called "fe-mah-lay", because that's the name the hospital gave her baby, "female".  right hand to god i'm not kidding.

(The Last names have been Blacked out to Protect the Non Kinky

What I find Funny is that people do this all the time and no one cares.

My Friend Andy or rather Andrew Jackson ******* had no idea he was named after a President who shot a man in the back

Hawkeye's name on M.A.S.H. Was Benjamin Frankin Pearse durring the life span of Ben Franklin it would not have been a Popular Name as Ben wasn't as Beloved then as he is today

Another Friend is CT Which is short for Clarence Thomas *******

And another who goes by Jeff even though his given name is Thomas Jefferson **********

Now at the times these men were president or in the public eye not all if them were liked and many were outright hated.

Lets just say there is a possibility that one day in the future these could be Amazingly Popular Names.

This person is just doing it much earlier than others.

My Brother was Nearly named Richard Nixon ******* because my Father so loved that man.

So what's in a name and why is it wrong to respect someone so much that you want to honor them by naming your young after them?

I don't know what it would take in Tennessee to get that name changed, but in many states it would take a very simple document and 10 minutes with a judge.  If the kid waits until they are an adult (god help them), it's another simple document and 10 minutes with a judge.

I dunno...kinda cute idea. Lots of parents name their children after movie stars or celibrities..why not a political personality?    Could have been a lot worse...naming his daughter after John McCain, for example....I don't think I would go along with that one...  [sm=applause.gif]
