Do you think he's learned from Gore's disreputable conduct in litigating an election?

Did you find a crystal ball?  Don't count those chickens just yet.

By the way, what was Gore's "disreputable conduct"?

Kerry was preparing to do it too.  I think that drove a few people to the other side.  Any candidate who expressed that plan would automatically lose my vot ... if they had it to begin with.

Both sides were prepared to litigate if they lost in 2004 and both are prepared now. In 2004 Kerry decided his margin was too big to overturn. The last really disreputable court challenge over a general election for POTUS was Nixon in 1960.

Strange that you only heard about the army of lawyers Kerry had on retainer.  Don't take that as doubt DK.  Just a statement.  I'm not in the mood to argue today unless its about armor, jousting, or swords.

Anyway, show me the proof that either candidate is trying to hold the election for hostage in this manner.  I would find that a deal breaker for either one.  If they cannot lose with grace, they should not even be running.

Here's McCain's press release about forming his team:

That says only about working before the elections to ensure fair elections.

"The purpose of the Honest and Open Election Committee is to resolve potential voting problems in advance of Election Day to bolster voters' confidence in the system," said Rudman. "We believe that elections should be decided by voters, not lawyers."

It does make one wonder though, doesn't it?

Now you're playing semantic games. This is McCain's post election litigation team. The committee's website is very direct in stating that one core principal is "Every eligible citizen has the right to vote and have his or her vote counted." That's a pretty clear statement indicating a willingness and readiness to litigate post election day.

Oh, I don't discount the possibility that this election could end up squeeky close, as it did in 2000, and that either side might take it to court... especially if the "winning" side stages faux protests to keep the Constitutionally protected right of getting a recount done properly.... or that one or the other side has illegally discounted up to 8,000 minority voters.

I wonder if Obama knows any good lawyers   [8|]

I haven't played any games at all.  Actually, it's a statement to try to fix problems beforehand.  Getting what you are getting is reading between the lines.  Which is what I was doing when I said "It makes one wonder, doesn't it?"

I'm not saying you are wrong because thats exactly what I am thinking at the moment.  Its kind of like covering a turd with chocolate.  It's still shit in the middle.
I agree that it looks like it will be a case of "I didn't win so you must have cheated."  Too bad.  I hoped that these guys would have a little more class than that.

I really don't care for Obama but he is definately pulling away in the class portion of the race.  I will give credit where it is due.
