Obama.  Any way you slice it.  Great, conversational debate.

They both seem to like "Joe."

dcnovice -> RE: The Last Debate (10/15/2008 7:46:50 PM)

McCain seemed oddly edgy, I thought.

slvemike4u -> RE: The Last Debate (10/15/2008 7:48:46 PM)

Joe the plumber won the debate, hands down!!!

.. and McCain wasn't wearing his flag lapel pin!

TheHeretic -> RE: The Last Debate (10/15/2008 7:49:12 PM)

He's fidgety.  In a completely partisan way, I'll reference his time in jet fighters.  [:D]

dcnovice -> RE: The Last Debate (10/15/2008 7:49:27 PM)

I didn't notice that!

slvemike4u -> RE: The Last Debate (10/15/2008 7:50:20 PM)

Rich, didn't he crash 5 of those jet fighters?

Yup.  I wonder if there is going to be an outcry of a lack of patriotism because of that like there was for Obama.

LaTigresse -> RE: The Last Debate (10/15/2008 7:54:29 PM)

I think McCain did better than previous debates, which was impressive. Yet he was still too angry and condesending which really turns me off. I was impressed with his knowledge and ability to clearly express that on important issues......when he wasn't busy being  nasty and discussing Joe the plumber. That got old.

Obama seemed really tired and lackluster compared to previous debates. Yet, he still doesn't lose his cool and that impresses me. I also like that he took the negative personal stuff discussions and said that it wasn't about them but the issues of the job they are vying for. I still believe his plans for the future are better so it has not swayed my vote.

MzMia -> RE: The Last Debate (10/15/2008 7:55:28 PM)

I think this last debate was the best one of all.
I also liked this format the best.
I also liked the way Obama answered McCain about his
ties with Ayers.
Maybe that dead horse will be left alone.
I wonder who Joe is voting for?

MissSCD -> RE: The Last Debate (10/15/2008 7:57:22 PM)

Obama.   No question.  McCain is for what has happened to us with the financial crash.  It is almost pathetic to listen to him.  I can listen to Barack all day.  What a nice, kind man.
McCain's eyes blink more than Richard Nixon's did.  I used to respect his military experience, but after the way he talked down to Barack, he can kiss my big white ass.  He would have to catch me to do it.

Regards, MissSCD

Go vote. Please.

Jeffff -> RE: The Last Debate (10/15/2008 7:58:35 PM)

I think the proximity of the candidates to each other made it more..... immediate and civil...  and while McCain did well, it was Obama's night

The "Joe The Plumber" video - Obama says "spread the wealth".

MistresseLotus -> RE: The Last Debate (10/15/2008 8:04:08 PM)

I found the debate on the issue of health care most interesting.  When McCain said "Congratulation Joe.. you're RICH!"   And realized that under McCain's plan.. an employer can choose as to whether or not to take his wealth and provide insurance for his employees.  Having worked all my working years with health insurance.. Obama's plan is better than McCain's.  You bet your sweet ass if Joe wants to hoard his wealth and have his employees go without, he should be fined.   Obama's plan looks out for the worker.

ACORN,..... a threat to democracy?!?![8D] A bit over stated?!

He refuted every attack made on Obama?!

The life of the mother isn`t at issue?!

Obama.  Any way you slice it.

Not by as much this time, I think. But he's good, he's very good. No way around it.

The fact remains, however, and McCain called him on it, he made a promise. And then he broke it. To McCain, that's a serious matter. I like McCain for that. I happen to agree with him.

I'm used to politicians breaking their promises after they're elected. But I'm not going to vote for a man who breaks his word right at the get-go, and just rolls right past it like, hey, so what?

If there's one thing we don't need in the Oval Office it's a slick talking head who's proven that his word doesn't mean anything. That's what we're trying to get rid of.

Well, except for the "slick" part, of course. Heh.

K.

So he gets a pass on calling him a terrorist and "not one of us" b/c Obama wouldn`t go to McCain`s town halls?!

Is that how it works?!

Please explain why McCain feels this way.Seems like two different issues ,to me.
