AIG which got its own bail out plan, some 120 Billion dollars (a 85 Billion then another 37 Billion) from the taxpayers, is partying on!  First, they spend reported $440,000 in one of California most expensive resorts.  They also had a catered affair at The Smithsoian, a plan to go to Half Moon Bay at a cost of $400 a night per person was canceled.  Instead they went to Europe for hunting party.

The New York Attorney General is now considering filling fraud charges against AIG which claim it was broke and now appears to have money to spend on their Excutives for the good job they did.

Well I am happy to know that my tax dollars are being used for such extravagance. You don't really expect them to use their own money. After all a single working mother can much more afford it then they can, I am sure their salaries are only in the low seven figures, so they need someone to pay their way.

I think the AIG junket is criminal...and no company receiving taxpayer assistance should spend a penny on a junket. Full restitution, not from AIG but from the management people involved should be mandated...for this and any future parties like this.

However...and there is always a "however"...it's really getting boring to hear some people blame "Bush" even for this!!....There are probably
people up at night having nightmares about George Bush...they see his face in the mirror when they shave,  in the bowl of porridge at lunch...
he is alllll overrrrrr   theeee   placceeeee....helllllppppp meeeeeeeeeeee....ughhhhhh "i've fallen and I can't get up"...Bushhhhhhhhhh!!!!

Well, the Bush Administration DID have the Federal Office of the Comptroller of the Currency preempt all the State predatory lending laws in 2003. For 5 years, NYS could have put the brakes on the fraud, but was prevented by the Loyal Bushies.

So, it's not unreasonable to land the whole mess in Bush's lap. The guy went out of his way to obstruct State Oversight. Hell, they had to torpedo Spitzer to keep him from having Andy Cuomo subpoena all these AIG thieves.

The AIG junket is shameful at the very least.   I think the government should make the executives that went to this retreat, cough up the money and repay it to the people.  Then they should be fired.

Andrew Cuomo, Attorney General of NY, has demanded restitution and threatens legal action.
AIG agrees to help recover tens of millions

I think it is high time for some tarring and feathering of these thieves.
