They have only themselves to blame....I'm not convinced that "sex" was involved somehow , the sentence is far too light if that had been "proven".
If you go travelling in foreign lands it's wise to heed its laws and values.It is likely that the "sex" in this case would , in the "civilised" west, not incur a custodial sentence.Amongst various reasons "we"judge by our own rules.
Nevertheless,if one should wander through foreign lands with different laws and levels of tolerance,one should be mindful to be respectful or not go in the first place.
They have only themselves to blame and it sounds like they got a light sentence.

I agree, three months for sex on a beach is too lenient, but three months inside for a kiss is absurd especially if they're trying to get more tourists. A caution and/or fine and educating people would be more like justice.

All I can say is when in another country....... DON'T DO ANYTHING.
