This is a program on PBS.  A group out of Ireland that I found to be a delightful blend of cultures.

While the instruments are traditional Irish they blend the electronics with them.  Their songs are in traditional Gaelic  yet sound almost like country of the USA or maybe we got our country sound from them originally).  They had dancers.  Traditional Irish step dancers.. dressed in tank tops and hip hugging plaid miniskirts ala Catholic school girl sentiment.  (You guys would love it!)  While they were dressed in casual western dress.. one member still incorporated the kilt with his t-shirt.  To me,this was an example of the "best of both worlds" :)

Check it out if you get  chance.

We had a Celtic band, called "Flogging Molly" come through Boise about a week ago, who are a self-described Irish Punk Rock band, and these guys are damn good!

Your local PBS.  In Phoenix it's channel 8.

Oh yeah, Gaelic Storm is a great group!
For those of you who saw the movie "TITANIC" they were the Irish musicians in "steerage."
As GT said, when are they on and what channel?

Sounds great!  Thanks for the heads up, Lotus.

DUH!  I was so excited about the program, I hadn't red about the group.  They are out of California...  But they certainly have embraced the Irish flavor.  Their lead swinger is Irish :)  (One of them..the guy from NY wears the kilt.. I'm starting to think the garb is rather attractive.)
