This is boiler-plate con rhetoric.

If you look back,Hillary was said to have the most LVR.John Kerry? The most LVR.Al Gore...guess who had the most LVR that year? Before him,Dole and Bush Sr. tried to hammer Clinton as being liberal liberal liberal.

It`s just one more standard BS line that gets broke out every election.

Just who is rating this and what the criteria,anyway?[8D]

Most cons live in an alternate reality to begin with and aren`t objective about this stuff.Anyone is a liberal. The media is liberal and part of an unseen liberal conspiracy. The schools and colleges are liberal, the laws and judges are to liberal.

The good news is liberal is no longer a dirty word.

As a proud liberal(and a ranking soldier in the secret liberal conspiracy [;)])I can and will defend liberals and liberal thought, with zeal.

Neither is "fuck"...and every comedian looking for cheap jokes uses it...does that make it a good word?

You are equating being liberal with the word "fuck", something that most polite people will not say in mixed company. You really come off as a demagogue you know

It doesn't matter that Obama grew up poor, that was then this is now.
As the Editor of the Harvard review he is an elitist even among lawyers!

So achievement is wrong? Pulling yourself up by your bootstraps is unacceptable?

I would rather elect someone with average intelligence who has standards and ethics than one who is a genius without them.

The problem is that Obama's standards are socialistic in nature. Redistribution of wealth is socialistic. Taxing from the rich to give to the poor is socialistic. Obama has all but quoted Marx several times in his speeches. He does not seem to be aware of what the government is supposed to do, which is to protect us from each and then get the hell out of the way of our personal success, or worse seems to be ignoring it. And he is hell bent on taking rights away from us. Witness his attitude on firearms ownership and religion.

Musicmystery -> RE: Obama: "Most liberal voting record in Congress" (10/19/2008 12:14:37 PM)

Naga,

We do ALL of that now. We have for decades.

How well has Bush's plan worked? How about all the rights Bush took away?

And how about all those generals, not just Powell, people who DO understand defense far better than the rest of us, supporting Obama?

Guess they need radio shows first.

And just because I can....cory, the mans name is Sol Alinsky.....perhaps if you read something aside from a blog on the man you might spell his name correctly.

Sorry about the spelling error...and his first name is Saul!   Anyway...I guess the world is gonna be guys that use spellcheck...does it really make any difference how I spelled his name...or is this a "spelling bee"....As Sarah said, "you can put lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig"..you can spell it with an A or an O..as Sol or Saul, the POINT that liberals keep trying to say is irrelevant, a "distractions", or, negative campaign narrative is the Barack chose to be friends, chose to read and be inspired by, people of the ultra left....unless you think that a "bomber" like Ayers is middle of the road liberal...in which case it's even worst than I thought...

As far as the blogs go...If I quote a blog...which I seldom do... I give full attribution. You are full of accusations and I would like to see some evidence of how you arrived at your description of me!  There is a paper trail of my posts with numerous URL's citing "source data"..not blogs...  But, hey, when did it make a difference what research someone did, or search for information someone did to a liberal?   If they disagree... it must be bogus since they are the font of all knowledge.
'
Ask any college Junior and he/she will tell you the smartest person on campus is his liberal professor warning about the end of the world from "global warming"...another Don Quixote excercise to go with the windmills they want to build.

It might night be the stuff of SNL, but listening to some of the rants here would really be a kick if it wasn't childs play some think it is....Makes a good case for McCain's plan for vouchers....we gotta do something quick to educate people or an entire generation may be lost.   [:)]

And so Colin Powell joins the list of general supporting Obama because they feel he has the expertise, the background, the experience to be Commander In Chief...
Wow!....working as a "community activist" in chicago must be like..well like going to Annapolis, for example, and spending years in the military, visiting and conferencing with hundreds if not thousands of staff officers over the years, visiting bases..and on and on......jeeeez, you just made me burp!

Powell was "disappointed" in the negative ads run by McCain...those horrible, terrible ads that discussed the biography of Barack Obama, the people the man associated with, learned from, and contributed too,  and the far left of  center enterprise they pursued.  Poor Barack, got his knicers in a knot of the Ayers, Wright, Rezko commentary.  It's just not fair discussing a mans friends.  Ya gotta have a lotta renewed respect for Powell...telling it as he sees it!...uh huh..!

Wait!!  Powell is supporting Barack because of his "economic policies"...yep, that's why the core democrats voting in the early primaries voted for Barack..or was it because of his stand (incorrect as it turns out) on Iraq.  If the debate in 2007 and in January and February would have been about ECONOMICS,  HILLARY CLINTON would be leading the ticket...

Now that takes the cake!...that is even funnier than one of the lines someone threw out that the best way to learn Portugese is to get drunk and speak Spanish!..

It's ok to attack Sarah Palin personally...and her pregnant daughter, it's ok to call George Bush just about every vile name in the book...he's only the President...it's ok to wish Cheney drops dead as, who was it...Moore said, it's ok for Murtha to call all the people in Western Pennslyvania racists..(he quickly apologize after the uproar), it's ok for Barack to say that those poor people in Pennsylvania are bitter and hang on to their God and guns... but..BUT... I use the word FUCK...and it makes me a demagogue...???  Would it have been ok to just say.."fucking liberal shits"....next time I will try to be more explicit...Grow up!  As far as "mixed company"...tell me your kidding... I thought this was a CM chat venue...not the Lutheran Brotherhood or the Tabernacle Choir web page.    People here discuss the pleasure of drinking urine ...and ...forget about it...or as we say..fugetaboutit! I just waste five minutes of my time when I could have been doing something more personally rewarding.

Musicmystery -> RE: Obama: "Most liberal voting record in Congress" (10/19/2008 1:21:45 PM)

cory,

The point of primaries is the vet the candidates and see what the voters think.

While it was close, we got the answer, especially since Democrats don't do the "winner take all" state by state as the Republicans do.

In short, that's how it's supposed to work, and I'm glad it did.

[edited to add---I basically like Clinton. She's my senator, and she does a damn good job, which is why NY overwhelmingly supports her as such. But Obama was a better choice for president, and that's what primaries are supposed to determine.]

I never saw Bush go after my gun rights or more of my taxes. Obama wants both.

All what? All four of them? The generals and high level military and retired military personal who support McCain far outnumbers them. Why focus on four who do (honestly I have not seen an exact count, but none have been ten or over) when there are countless more who do not?

NumberSix -> RE: Obama: "Most liberal voting record in Congress" (10/19/2008 1:39:19 PM)

Well, is that to say that we should concentrate on the countless majority of folks who ain't gonna vote for McCain, by logical extension?

Did you somehow miss Obama saying the opposite?

Do you earn over $250,000/yr. after deductions?

NumberSix -> RE: Obama: "Most liberal voting record in Congress" (10/19/2008 1:43:09 PM)

I am quite sure there are many more out here with guns than I have, but I rank in the highest percentile.  And my guns are gonna be just fine with Obama as president.

Just because one does not come out rabidly for something, don't make 'em agin it.  We gotta get over that notion.

Have you missed his voting record, speeches and endorsements by anti-gun groups pointing out that Obama is lying to get the vote?

That is a rather personal question.

Yes, but directly relevant, since you've claimed you're worried about higher taxes.

In short, your taxes will likely DECREASE under Obama.

If that's a bad thing, vote for someone else.

I'm not sure what's so bad about being a liberal. It's almost as if it's a dirty word or something.

It really depends on where you are at.

I identify with a lot of conservative viewpoints and in the WIITWD world, it tends to earn me the stigma of being "conservative" which to a lot of kinky people seems to be the source of all evil in the world. Of course, they tend to forget my viewpoints on gay marriage, abortion, and the war in Iraq which are the same as liberals.

I support McCain, because even though there is a number of things I like about Obama, I see him as a socialist pretending to not be one and I can't reconcile with that. Amazing enough, even though I am not a member of the Republican party and there is quite a few things I disagree with regarding McCain/Palin (the war in Iraq and abortion mainly), this sees to earn me the label of "Republican" by Pro-Obama supporters.

In the world of South Carolina where the majority of the people I meet are psycho conservative, the mentioning of my viewpoints on gay marriage, abortion and the War in Iraq (particularly the War in Iraq) earns me the label of "liberal" and "Democrat" (as well as a few non "G" rated words when it comes to being in opposition to the War in Iraq). Amazing enough, they, too, forget my conservative viewpoints (Strongly against Affirmative Action and any other similar racist programs, government intervention in the markets and business, and really any kind of wasteful and inefficient socialist program).

So I have come to the following conclusions....

A) I am CLEARLY having an identity crisis

B) Politics is populated by zealous pontificating nitwits who want to draw a line in the sand and make anyone who disagrees with them about anything the enemy.

Musicmystery -> RE: Obama: "Most liberal voting record in Congress" (10/19/2008 2:21:49 PM)

Isn't, by it's very nature, McCain's health care plan also socialism?

Yeah, no shit. I've waivered on my vote for McCain a few times now, because as find time to learn more and more about the issues (or at least, the closest conception I can come to regarding the truth of the issues), I really am not sure where one ends and the other begins.

The most rational decision might be for me to flip a coin.
