I didn't watch it, but did read about it in the morning news.

My favourite part was when Alec Baldwin mistook Palin for Tina Fey backstage and told the guy standing with her "This is the most important election in our nation's history, and you want her, our Tina, to go out there and stand with that horrible woman?"

Then the guy introduced him to Palin. Baldwin said "I see. Forgive me. I must say this: You are way hotter in person."

( I think Alec Baldwin in a putz but I give him a gold star for that one )

Then Palin jabbed back with "Thank you, and I must say, your brother Stephen, is my favourite Baldwin brother."

(no surprise there as Stephen as gone off the far right deep end )

Baldwin family gatherings must be so interesting!

You really did not miss much.  Mainly she just stood there and finally said "Saturday Night Live."  McCain was exceptional several years ago on SNL.  However, Palin was not.  It almost appeared that she was supposed to keep her mouth shut lest someone take her on.
(I made a VHS tape of the entire show.  If I can digitize  it,  I will put it somewhere with access.)

I also read that she was originally supposed to do the rap thing but declined at the last minute, saying it was too controversial. So yes, I imagine she's been told to tone it down a bit.

Thanks for the links, Lucy.  I completely forgot to set the recorder.

My favorite moment was the when she took the podium, she said, "No, I won't take your questions." Yep, even when it's a FAKE news conference, she can't afford to say anything.

BTW.. the "old guy in the hallway" was Lorne Michaels... he's the producer of SNL, and was the template for Mike Meyers' "Dr. Evil."

I have to agree with Lorr. Not much there.

Lots of hype, little substance.

Um.. I'm talking about the show. <--qualifying answer for the wise-assed among us

She did better than I thought she would but of course she was mostly mute, I imagine that's not a coincidence

That being said, I haven't watched SNL in years, it's really gone down the toilet. That first skit almost made me turn it off.

He is still in a lot of pain. That happens with this sort of injury often when it is healing. He had a nerve study done and it showed he is healing though... that is the good news. I am taking him for a nerve block tomorrow morning. It will kill the pain, but he will have weakness in that hand for a month, and numbness too... He has not been released to go back to work.

He does not post on the internet a lot, although he does check his profile here to stay in touch with people.

I hadn't realized he'd been injured, and I'm terribly sorry to hear it. Please give him my best wishes!

LaTige,I don't think it was ever intended to be done by Sarah, her "change of mind"was part of the bit....that's how I saw it anyway.

I thought the rap song was really funny. The snowmobile guy looked a lot like her husband. Amy Poehler (sp?) is just great. Her shooting the moose like a gansta was hilarious!!

I'm an eye-watcher..   Palin's toothy smile didn't cover up the pissed glare in her eyes.
