I had a friend who made it with spaghetti once.  That was interesting... A little stringy, had my tummy all tide up in knots.

eggplant? or buttersquash?

sirsholly -> RE: What's better in peach pie? (10/19/2008 8:19:56 AM)

either would work as long as you add the right amt of catsup

GreedyTop -> RE: What's better in peach pie? (10/19/2008 8:20:57 AM)

maybe some peas as well....

sirsholly -> RE: What's better in peach pie? (10/19/2008 8:22:06 AM)

only if you mix it with tuna fish...

GreedyTop -> RE: What's better in peach pie? (10/19/2008 8:31:43 AM)

if you add onions you almost HAVE to toss in a jar of pickles

GreedyTop -> RE: What's better in peach pie? (10/19/2008 8:39:04 AM)

*nods*  and grapes.. white seedless, of course...

purepleasure -> RE: What's better in peach pie? (10/19/2008 8:39:56 AM)

and creamed chipped beef

sirsholly -> RE: What's better in peach pie? (10/19/2008 8:40:27 AM)

if you use the white seedless grapes then you have to double the amt of Garlic to 4 cloves

Riiiiiight, LadyE...you are such a kidder!

GreedyTop -> RE: What's better in peach pie? (10/19/2008 8:43:35 AM)

and don't forget to put in a cup or two of diced ham  (crumbled bacon can be substituted, but you'd have to use 3 cups)

sirsholly -> RE: What's better in peach pie? (10/19/2008 8:44:32 AM)

if you use the bacon then you will need chocolate frosting...

ThatDaveGuy69 -> RE: What's better in peach pie? (10/19/2008 8:45:45 AM)

GOOOOOOOOOD  MORNING!

For me, it depends on whether you are using fresh or canned peaches.  For fresh peaches ya just gotta go with a strong guacamole and some mild salsa.  If, on the other hand, you are limited to canned peaches, then it's just not the same without a pound or 2 of pulled, BBQ beef.

yanno.... if sunshine was serious about adding a little of an additional fruit for texture/flavor purposes, it totally sucks cod, tuna, bacon, ham, and creamed chipped beef that we destroyed her desire for baking a peach pie.

Sunshine, if you were serious, I apologize and here's a simple peach pie recipe I found in the interweb.
