As I sit here and ponder the latest fantasy that has bugged me these past few days, I wonder ;

What are fantasies and why do we get them ?

Reasonable fantasies are the episodic day dreams of our desires.

Fancy fantasies are our attempt to imagine the unreal.

The fantasies of the successful dominant and lover should be future plans.

My father told me, IF you are going to fantasize...go all the way.

I just saw one sodding picture on the net and that started it all. My pal says his girlfriend saw that coming ages ago, perhaps as far back as May.

My pals are very highly trusted, we talk, and talk deep when the need arises, but one person's kink is not another person's kink, so support is there, but that is as far as it goes.

There is a quote I like which goes something like:

"Fantasies are personal goals without deadlines."

Fantasies are also an "escape valve" for feelings of boredom, frustration, and dissatisfaction.

Just to spin this off in a slightly different direction... I'd like to ask a related question... What are your fantasies like? I mean, Mine are incredibly well detailed, sometimes the details seem to get in the way, in fact. Yet, I've talked with others and they seem to just have rather nebulous fantasies, just images really, that flash inside their heads... Am I the only one who has "movie-like" sexual reveries?

Well now.

dare to dream.  why not?   why should the grid decide our every thought?  it should not.

Be free with your mind.  Some fantasies are just within the self.

The mind is a muscle.   Creative thought is lacking. We should have astounding art, music and theater these days. [war]

I often have a fantasy that I can jump real high.

life is the pits...and it is necessary to have an escape.

It is only a problem if your world is completely fantasy and you are unable to grip the world reality of your  social group.

Whats more is since we have lost our tribal identity- we need dreams even more now.    The world is not one size fits all. It isnt the ad world the Madison Ave, has trapped us in. Happiness is not a mall.  People once gardened and aspired for the perfect rose.  But now - the aspiration is an SUV to the mall...even if you need nothing- the fricken mall.

I love my crank files. I get worried because the more advanced in age I get, the more disturbing they become, but I blame Internet culture and collarme.com for that.

"fantasies" are what I get to live out on stage.  Want to live them????  Learn to act and join a local group.

Life only has the limit you set by saying 'you can't"  Dream it and make it real does happen.  Worked in my case

Well... there's fantasies, and then there's 'those' fantasies. You know, the ones that one would hesitate to confide even in one's best friend? Those ones, I'd rather not make happen in real life: the front page of the National Enquirer isn't my idea of a dignified obituary  .

I think the more you practice the better at it you get and the more vivid they become, the problem as always is finding the time to do it. In my everyday life I’m too focused on problem solving and if I am away from work and I don’t have a problem to solve I will think one up to try and solve that. When I was younger I had quite vivid day dreams but I think I started using a different part of my brain in standby mode and I’m not so good at visual day dreaming anymore.

When I read erotic fiction online which is basically other peoples fantasies written down in detail I’ve noticed there are two styles of writing: one where every little detail is important and is made note of and one where it is just a description of a chain of events that leads to a scenario and it isn’t so important how the environment, characters or thoughts and feelings are described. I imagine you’d be the type of writer that would describe every little detail. I’m the type of writer that reads that would be the best way to describe my dreams, I’m tired of my dreams I’m a fantasy parasite. It’s a left and right brain type of thing I’m told.

Fantasies are like worm holes in space...they allow you to go from here to there and back and never leave where you were.

My ego says I shouldn't always listen to my Id and my super ego says I should never listen to my Id. Thus I don't know who to trust.

I trust you implicitly which is similar to explicitly kittin. I'm actually a bit scared of crickets though because the ones I've seen jump directly at your face with little or no warning. Just when you are about to capture them in a glass after you observe them climbing up your door they've already bounced off your face. I think though you would make a nice cricket and it would be a pleasure to have you straddling my shoulders.

Nope, you are not the only one, as with me, the detail is immense and often goes into other dimensions to include other senses, so not so much of a movie, but a real tangible thing, but it is away beyond my touch, locked in the depths of my brain cell.

Oh, the detail that gets in the way, that can be overcome, I am not sure how, but it can, as I used to get bogged down with detail.

There's lots of people with fantasies out there today.
Some people are having fantasies that the American People will elect a socialist for president.
