submittous -> automatic video ads problematic (10/20/2008 1:20:43 PM)

Is anyone else having problems with the automatic downloading of video ads when you click on a full profile? We are on a satellite internet system and have limited bandwidth allowace per 24 hours so if we spend some time perving profiles we can use up our entire allotment and be put on super slow service for the following entire day. If they keep this up we suppose we'll have to go back to bondage or alt unless there is some way to disable this "feature" here on collarme... Anyone have any ideas?

Perhaps writing to support on the other side would get you the correct answer.  Asking here will get you lots of guesses.

Naw. I hardly ever click on profiles.

It is most annoying.  I will never click on an ad in a profile.

I find it pretty annoying but consider it the price to pay for a free site.

My suggestion would be you disable the plug-in whilst using the Collarme site

in IE 7 under the Tools menu go to 'Manage Add-Ons' then across to 'Enable or Disable Add-Ons...'

Then scroll down to 'Shockwave Flash Object' and click the radial button for disable at the bottom left.

Then restart all versions of IE7.

The End. If you use www.youtube.com etc. you will have to turn it back on. A small notification pops up for sites that use it.

It would be a similar process for other browsers.
