as a new person i'm curious, who's responsibility is it to purchase and care for toys. is it a joint thing or is it either the Master's or sub's responsibility? Please help me understand....

If it's insertables, I make damn sure I have them cleaned after every time they're used. One UTI was more than enough. Hurtie things are oiled and kept in the ouchie box. He normally takes care of those. Since he has now officially moved back in, the happy & evil toys are once again under the same roof.

There's no hard and fast rule. Some subs like to have their own toys so that the toys are only used on them. Although, I went on a playdate with someone and he told me that I was the first girl to ever bring her own toybag. Mostly, it seems that the dominant one chooses and buys the toys. Since you state on your profile that you are owned, then you should ask your owner what his preferences are. Cali

If it needs to be cleaned, its my responsibility If it needs maintanence, oiling or anything else, Sir takes care of it. Sir buys most of the toys- those few he doesn't already have[8\|]. I have bought him a butt hook as a (get this!) christmas present.[:D]. He said i bought it more for me than him. No - i tell you - not so!!!!!!![:)]

Anyone I've ever been with we shared in buying toys..some were mine, some were his and others were ours....until we were committed to one another and then they all became his no matter who bought them. I've always been the one to clean them and maintenance all depended on what was wrong.

I have in the past bought many toys, but I have been for the most part unowned all my life, so I have bought them in anticipation of future use. For me it has always been jointed expenditure. And I dont like "used toys" no matter how well they are taken care of.

Sir has His own toys - god, they're everywhere, you can't open a drawer in His house without finding them, as well as a gigantic toy chest - and I have mine. That said, if there's something I want to try, I buy it, if there's something He wants to try, He gets it, and I suppose if there was something we both wanted to try - we'd split it. Or, whoever happens to be able to afford at the time picks it up. shrugs not a big deal, and we have so many toys it's awesome.

I don't buy a new toy unless my Master tells me to or I specifically ask permission to buy something special. That's just our dynamic. Our favorite toys are each other's bodies.

Well, I have my own toy bag cause sometimes its just a lot of work for one person to always bring their toys. Maybe its the only child in me that just likes having her own toys. I've played with Doms that have their own. I always thought its best to have a small toy bag of your own. When it comes to clean up I say boths. Once I'm able to move again if the person I was playing with had not finished cleaning up I would help. If Sir was to just lay down beside of me in bed, then I'd clean them up when I could move. Even alone if thats what he wanted.

I bought some toys before I was in a relationship, mostly vibrators. I bought a few more because I'm a switch and figured I'd need them eventually. I was right.

I have my own toys, they are used only on me. The thought of having insertables that are second-hand squicks me out. Badly. Regardless of cleaning.

That's exactly how we are as well. Before we were married, I pretty much bought all the toys. We may have picked them out but it was my toy and my purchase. A second hand toy is only as good as the cleaning. Which if you've ever been to a party you know most are not cleaned very well at all. Now, we buy toys together. Though they are still my toys, primarily because they are used on me.

I've bought some toys, mainly insertibles. I also make a buttload of toys. He's bought some toys, mainly hitty things. I buy toys and bring them to him as presents, he buys me toys and gives them to me as presents. There's not clear deliniation. As a submissive, I suggest that you buy yourself anything you might like stuck inside of you. A set of comfy cuffs also aren't a bad investment.

The rule of thumb I tell people is: if you care that the toy is used on other people, then buy the toy for yourself and request that it be used on you. Honestly, it'd be nice if a bottom popped for disposable stuff on a regular basis. Needles, fire play supplies, wax play supplies, scalpels, condoms...they get expensive after a while. Master Fire

It all depends on your dynamic and what you both decide .Will there be only two people exclusively using said items or multiple people ?I know i have certain items that are mine alone no sharing .Some were bought by me , some gifted to me , still others were a collaborative purchase .I do think everyone should have his/her own toys , there can be also share items as well .I also know if i want kewl new item i find i will just get it "i am greedy that way " and still some items just find me .When your buying vibes or insertables stick with new no matter who buys and always limit who uses them .
