I bought it today.  It is awesome.   Here is my question to you ACDC fans.  What does ACDC mean to you?  ACDC is my evil side.

ACDC played at my school dance in 1974, I was on the organising commitee and got to meet them. Angus was shaking his head way back then, he must have some awesome neck muscles.....

This has always given me kudos with my daughters friends......

ETA, it was the first time my heartbeat was taken over by loud music,

I thought it was supposed to stand for Anti-Christ/Devil's Children?

WOOHOO!  I'm seeing them on Jan 7th in Pittsburgh.  What AC DC means to me is good old fashioned, kick ass rock and roll.  Twue decendants of Chuck Berry!!!!

I don't like Wal-Mart either.   Sometimes I have to take the plunge.  I spend way too much money when I go in there.   I work in retail.  They are good.  I hate the way they treat their employees.
Don't deny yourself the joy of this CD because you won't shop at Wal-Mart. They have a ton of ACDC Cds including the greatest hits which is next fo me.

I haven't heard the cd yet, but am looking forward to it. I love AC/DC.

Btw, they got the name AC/DC after seeing the letters "AC/DC" on the back of a sewing machine owned by their sister, Margaret. "AC/DC" stands for Alternating Current/Direct Current.

You are correct, AC/DC got their name off the back of a sewing maching when Agnus's sisiter was making his "schoolboy" outfit. They thought the symbol looked cool with the lightining bolt. Someone told him that AC/DC meant that you went "both ways". But they didn't care. They stuck with the name. And the rest is Rock n Roll history.

This was my sentiment! I actually had this long discussion with myself, with one side arguing that it was AC/DC for blood's sake... of COURSE I had to get the album... and the other side arguing that it was WalMart... and while WalMart could be considered A Classic Manifestation of Corporatized Evil in the Modern World, and it made perfect sense that AC/DC would be dealing with A Classic Manifestation of Corporatized Evil in the Modern World, that still didn't justify me giving them my money... I even tried to convince myself that it wouldn't be as ethically reprehensible if I ordered it online... but I wasn't going to let myself get away with that blatant of an attempt at rationalization.

Here is what you do.   Just send a friend into Walmart, and have them bring it out to ya.

Winks.

Order off their web site.

Saw AC/DC, geez, about 18 years ago as a teen.  My best friend's Dad got us fabulous tickets and we were so close to the stage that when the cannons went off it blitzed my hearing out to the point where my ears were ringing for several days, the mark of a good show for any metal head (The day I wear ear plugs to a show is the day I am too old to go).  They put on one hell of a show; played 2 1/2 hours or more and gave it their all.  Not a huge fan but much respect for their performance.  Angus is a madman!
Oh, and "You Shook Me All Night Long" was the only metal song they played at prom and my ex- and I got engaged that night!  :>

I find it interesting that so many people boycott Wal-Mart due to their practices with their workers.  But I never see news stories about the other large national chain retailers who have the same or similar practices.  Do you all do research on the others before you shop at them??  Just curious.  I'm not a huge fan of WalMart, but when I was driving a semi all over the country, that was the only place I could park my truck & go shopping & even spend the night.  Had it not been for that availability, I would never have had fresh food to eat at an affordable price.  And the people who work in them are some of the nicest, friendliest people I've met out there.  Why not spend some money there to insure that those folks have jobs???

I don't get the whole "buying single songs is evil" mentality that AC/DC is using to justify not offering their work on iTunes and other download sites. When I was growing up, I had boxes and boxes of these little disks, about 9" around give or take, that were called "singles" or "45s"... they had a good song on one side, and a sort of crappy 'filler' song on the other side (ok, sometimes I disagreed with the producers about which side was the "A" side...), but still, they were about a buck, and you basically bought them for the one song. Most artists released at least one or two of them with each album.

On iTunes, if you like a single song, you download the song. It's about a buck (99 cents plus tax in the US), and there's -no- flip side... so they get a buck for -every- song. If you buy the album, you -may- get one song or two songs 'free', but the album is still around 13-15 bucks (about the same price as a CD), and many times you don't get -any- free songs... the bonus is something bogus like a PDF booklet of the cover art and lyrics, etc.,. Of course, sometimes you score, and the 'bonus' for buying the album is a really good video of one of the songs. In any case, if you buy all the songs on an album separately, you still pay the cost of the whole album. If you only like 4 songs, you're still paying for more than you would if only 2 "45s" were released from a given album and the other two songs you liked were only available on the album but you didn't buy the album because it wasn't worth it for 4 songs.

To me, this is all just blowing smoke up someone's *ss.
