Off the top of my head, Hermann Hesse. Because, as a mature teenager, HH's writings changed my perceptions of things in a good way, at that time. I'll have to pick up his books and re-read one or two, to see if any of his works still move me as they once did. But, I remember way back more than 20 years ago, Mr Hesse's books touched me very deeply and I wanted to be in the pressence of one that had such a wonderful gift with words and thoughts. I would love to sit at a table where he is one of the diners.

For me, it would be Lady Angelika and ''Cheeko'' the cat - Why? Because there's so many things to talk about. And having them within meter or so, we could both see each other smile and laugh. I would also be close enough to wrap my arms around them whenever oppertunity permits.

Wow what a great question----for Me--Catherine de Medici, she is our direct ancestor--Peter Navarre, My great great uncle who brought the message--"We have met the enemy and he is ours" and Robert E Lee--who I admire but would ask about Gettysburg starting the conversation with " With all due respect Sir--WTH were you thinking?"

Jesus Christ

To ask Why? And why not?

My treat - Carmine's in NYC (loud - but I think he'd enjoy the "feast of the seven fishes" this time of year) , unless he's into steak then Peter Luger's. If it's lunch - Carnegie. (Someone remind me how cold it is in the City today so I don't miss it so much!)

Issac Asimov, Albert Einstein or Benjamin Franklin, why well because they are all great men who have done such great things.
If not for any one of them we would not be where we are today.

They had the courage to stand up and take a chance to change things.

Napolean Bonaparte a captain in artillery;
Adolph Hitler a corporal in army communications;
George Bush a no-show leiutenant;

Their question would be along the lines of..."WHAT the fuck were you guy's THINKING, fighting on so many fronts?

Across the table....
Atli (Attila the Hun)
The Ghengis Khan
Hannibal;
Alexander;

Then to the side would be Albert Einstein and me, and we would sneak off after an hour of discussion or so, to have a blackboard visit.

If Tycho Brahe and Nils Bohr flew in from Denmark, that would be ok.

Now as for me, Mercnbeth.......if JC was gonna be there we would go to Spark's in case he needed to be taken out again.

Ron

Oh, so many many more...........

I would love to have dinner one more time with my Mom. Just because I miss her a little more each day. Eleven years in February.
There are so many artists...Michaelangelo, Caravaggio, Vermeer, Da Vinci, Rembrandt, Pollack, Warhol, de Kooning, Rothko. Too many to list here. It just keeps going in my head.
