Experiment a little.  That's part of the fun!  Clothes pins are fairly safe in the clamp department, so learn about your sub by trying different places for different lengths of time.  Drill a hole in the handle and add some weight if necessary.  Tie them together, or to other parts/things.

Who knew that the application of clothes pins was an art?

There is no right or wrong.  Just have fun and experiment.

For many people microbondage (clithespins and other clippy things) is an art. And, like most S/m techniques, there are right and wrong ways.

To watch out for:
  Fibrocystic Breasts
Fibrocysts often cause the breast tissue to feel dense, irregular and bumpy. Often they feel swollen, dull, achy and tender. Severe pain with any compression or impact is also common and often feels like a burning sensation. Fibrocysts are most often located in both breasts and commonly found in the upper outer part and the underside of the breasts. Microbondage should avoid those areas on fibrocystic breasts if pain is severe.

Menstrual Cycle
Many women have changes in their breasts that are related to their monthly menstrual cycle.  Swelling, tenderness, thickening, and pain in the breasts may occur before and during the menstrual period.  At the same time, one or more lumps or a feeling of increased "lumpiness" may appear in the breasts.  These symptoms can be caused by extra fluid collecting in the breast tissue, which is normal. Microbondage during the menstrual cycle can be excruciating to some women.

Mammary Duct Ectasia
This is a disease of women nearing menopause.  Ducts beneath the nipple become inflamed and can become clogged.  Mammary duct ectasia can be painful and produce a thick, sticky discharge that is gray to green in color. Breast microbondage should not be done on a woman with mammary duct ectasia.

Piercings And Wounds
Microbondage over lacerations and puncture wounds, whether purposeful (piercing) or accidental can bleed profusely due to the engorgement of venous blood in the area. Be prepared to apply pressure to control hemorrhage.

Hernias and Cysts
Those with scrotal hernias, epididymal cysts, and breast cysts should not be subjected to even mild forms of microbondage on the affected areas.

Breast and Scrotum Hematomas
A hematoma is a swelling filled with blood that is caused by trauma. Hematomas most commonly form when the skin has been broken but other causes can apply.  Large, dense, black bruises are often hematomas. Hematomas on the breast and scrotum are caused by:
  • Leaving the clip/pin on for too long
  • Trying to pinch too much skin into the devise
  • Applying extreme pressure on the jaws of the devise for more than a few seconds.
  • Twisting the breast/scrotum tissue with the devise

A hematoma is an excellent medium for the growth of bacteria. A small hematoma usually absorbs on its own but a large one often requires surgery. Breast hematomas can cause fat necrosis (destruction of fatty tissue), which leads to internal scar tissue formation. Remaining tissue becomes hardened, forming benign lumps mimicking that of breast cancer. Hematomas within the scrotal sack can cause pain and "shift" adjacent structures, including vessels and nerves.

Know your risks.

(I can never seem to C&P from a Word document without it looking wonky)

Hi Elegant!

Man, you just totally burst my bubble.  All this time, I thought you could type that well in the messages.  [:D]

OP - Buy as many different kinds of clothes pins as you can find.  They all have different 'grip strengths'.  Be sure to test them on yourself before applying to your boy.  I've got a set of those white ones from Wally World that have a rather tight grip, VERY 'pinchy'.  My boy likes those on his nips but doesn't want them near his genitals.  I have another bag full of multi colored ones from the dollar store with springs that are not as strong.  Those are much more fun for 'experimenting' and making little colored patterns.  I just sort of keep adding them in interesting places until my boy whimpers 'Please, no more.'   And don't forget to 'manipulate' them once they are in place.  There is nothing more fun (to me) than having a boy lying on his back, all covered in the pins, then lay my own body across his to push all the pins over to the sides ... sometimes they 'slide' off.  Oh!  The pained expressions!  But then, I'm just that way.

is there a way to adjust the pinchiness of a standard run-o-the-mill clothespin? =p just wonderiiiiiiing...

are plastic ones more pinchy? i got some wooden ones from walmart because my skin was too wimpy for the clamps he has, and the wooden ones are fairly mild (although they do cause this wonderfully warm ouchiness that grows and grows)

ranja -> RE: The art of cloths pins (10/24/2008 9:13:32 AM)

I find the bigger wooden pegs with the flat jaws are the best.
The ones with the least nipping area are the hardest to take, i can not cope with plastic ones.
you can wind rubber bands around them to make them pinch more or less.

I read somewhere that you really should not leave them on any longer than about 20 minutes.

RainydayNE -> RE: The art of cloths pins (10/24/2008 11:11:04 AM)

the rubber band idea might come in handy for certain boob areas that are obnoxiously oversensitive
the plastic ones usually have little teeth...

If you are utilizing wooden clothespin, it is best to sand them first with a fine grit sandpaper.  Unless, of course you want splinters!

@Elegant-
Well said you.  It is a relief to see that some people do take this seriously.

P.S.- you should never clamp (with a clothespin or otherwise,) the calves, as that is where most blood clots form and releasing that clot through manipulation could prove disastrous.

Any art and handycraft shop should sell them and they come in all sizes and colors.

As far as pegging someone up... rule of thumb is... if you can pinch the skin you can peg it.

Elegant, thank you so much for that information!  I knew about the menstral cycles and piercings but not the other conditions.
