Mintymale -> Users in UK (10/21/2008 5:35:21 PM)

i have recently been trying to talk to female members from UK however it seems hardly anyone replies. It seems the fact so many pervy guys mail the same pervy mails over and over ruins it for genuine guys looking to get to no genuine girls

not sure what im trying to accomplish posting about this just really frustrated with the set up of things  is it the same with US members

Usako -> RE: Users in UK (10/21/2008 5:42:05 PM)

It's the same for everyone. Form letter e-mails are not unique to the UK, or the US. Wankers are international!

Mintymale -> RE: Users in UK (10/21/2008 5:45:00 PM)

thats a nice way of putting it, if only there was some sort of wanker detection program that could remove them all, plus there are like 10 guys for every girl on here

yourMissTress -> RE: Users in UK (10/21/2008 6:37:55 PM)

Welcome to internet dating.  It's not really all that bad.  It's just a matter of understanding that it's not instantaneous, it's still a selection process, and the basic rules of dating still apply.

Its is a shame that a few mindles twats ruin things for the genuine people on here, but unfotunatly that sis part of the whole beast.  Take yr time it will happen eventually, and yeah anti wanker software would be beneficial....(Mr Gates are you reading )

hi rick,

just perved you.  maybe its a scottish thing, but id change 'no' to 'know' - little things like that can make or break a profile.

a pic of some sort would be good, maybe some of those biceps youre building - youre clearly new and finding out so you need to sell yourself a little more.

you are clearly looking for a sub so id suggest you mention whether or not you have a dominant personality and are looking for a power exchange based relationship or if youre just looking for a kinky partner.  as you say there are lots of guys competing, so you need to say more about yourself and who youre looking for.

just a couple of thoughts you can take or leave.

good luck and hang in there.

Yes, indeedy [:D]

softness -> RE: Users in UK (10/23/2008 10:13:39 AM)

it may well be that as the traffic on this site is mostly for thr states ... that we Engliskers have very rare communications from people within the UK

when we do .. its often the troll mail that afflicts everyone

colouredin -> RE: Users in UK (10/23/2008 11:49:47 AM)

I tend to find most mail is very deletable on here, normally tho only ones I maintain contact with are the ones I message first. I dont think its a CM thing I think its an internet thing

susie -> RE: Users in UK (10/23/2008 10:19:40 PM)

Whilst there are a number of UK users on CM I am not sure it is the best site for meeting people in the UK. Try Informedconsent which is more UK based.

Be aware though that whichever site you use you will always find that the response rate to your initial contact will be on the low side. It has nothing to do with the site or the location of people and a lot more to do with the fact that most women get inundated with mail on dating sites and they have the choice of which ones to respond to, if any.

Make sure that your profile and initial message stand out and gives them something to respond to.

myotherself -> RE: Users in UK (10/23/2008 10:42:51 PM)

I've met a lot of people from cm over the years.

One gave me the confidence to become involved in the local bdsm community and introduced me to a whole new circle of friends.  I owe him a great deal.

Some have been lovely and are now good friends.

I've met some wonderful play partners on here, people I will always remain grateful to for their time and emotional investment in me, and who will always be friends.

Some have been extremely forgettable...[8|]

And one required a talking-to from the police to leave me alone.

Last (but certainly not least!) I met my current partner on here.  It's only been a few months, but we clicked straight away and we would never have met if it hadn't been for cm.

So I'd say - don't give up!  We ladies may get a lot of c-mail from guys, but many of us know how to spot the losers and filter them out.  If you're patient and persistent, hopefully you will meet the right one for you too...

Good luck!

kidwithknife -> RE: Users in UK (10/27/2008 4:47:22 PM)

Hang in there.   I met my new slave on here.  On top of that, a sub friend of mine met her current dom on here.  So it certainly happens.

While there are undoubtably more people from the States on here, that's swings and roundabouts.  We have the advantage that the UK is small enough for distance to be far less likely of an issue.

It is undoubtably a bit of a "buyer's market" for women on here, but don't overstate that.  If your profile actually says something about yourself, you put an effort into writing decent introductory mails rather then just sending cut and paste jobs, you have a basic concept of social awareness etc. the odds even out to an extent.

Amen....

I am especially fond of 3000 word messages (I know everybody has a book in them and most should keep it there) with laundry lists and whatnot, and then it turns out they haven't even glimpsed at your profile, makes me feel quite "special" not

Max1000 -> RE: Users in UK (10/27/2008 5:17:42 PM)

Hmm there does seem to be massive disclaimers and caviates on every womans profile warning about foul language, generic letters and rude one liners. Its a shame because everyone I speak to seems nice and friendly.... Maybe I just haven't been on here long enough to be a cynic....
