can/would/will--ANYONE give me a hint how you change your avatar to a personal picture...AND put IN a personal picture?

i looked in SEARCH and got zilch..and no FAQ answers.....

anyone help?

Avatars

If I am correct though veronica, if you have a photograph on your profile, it shows that by default unless you have an avatar selected. I maybe wrong though.

It's not working for me either, Wolfgrrrrl, and I have had several folks give me some options to try. I have the settings done correctly, maybe the Magic of Technology will fall into place for us. :)

There is an astonishing selection of avatars to choose from, so eventually I will just pick a bit of artwork. Can you believe though, that there is a HYDRANGEA, but no HIBISCUS? lol!

i dont believe that you can select a personal picture that is different than your profile picture anymore, but i could be wrong.

So many changes, I tried to change my personal pic to one less revealing than my original one with no luck, hence the one I have now. But veronicaofML, I will miss your avatar, when you change it. I recall the first time I saw it my thoughts were, "Now that's how i'd like to see my future boy".

. It caused me put a big relaxing smile on my face.

Good luck with finding a solution to uploading your pic.

The only way to have a personal pic as your avatar is if it is your main profile picture. If you go to "Edit Profile" on the main page and click the "Browse" button to select a picture from your hard drive and update your profile it should update your main profile photo. It will take a day or so for the pic to be approved. In the meantime take down your avatar that you have now. Once the pic uploads it should automatically become your new avatar.

No angel, it's not working that way; it used to before last updates maybe, but I have a picture, and it is no longer showing as my avatar... I don't care that much, but found the same problem. M

Maybe the site has changed its rules, but when i 1st began to post in June, i could use an avatar as well as my picture, inserted as a thumbnail. It was an option available after i hit "ok" and before i hit "post". It's gone now.

I just clicked on your name, and Collarme says you don't even have a profile!

I dunno... I used to have a field of fire lilies for my avatar, and they dumped it. But then, its not a big deal to me.

Me too, BlkTallF. I worked obsessed on my lost picture for 4.2 minutes before deciding it just wasn't that important and I should move on. And yet...I still find it idley distressing.

I know what you mean, I did go to avatar area, and when that didn't work, I gave it up. I have profile off at the moment, but before that did obsess about it for a min since I'd become accustomed to the pic with my posts visual; can't complain though, collarme does a great job as sites go, even compared to pay sites. M

Hello M(Its really good to 'see' you - I miss you, does that count?!) - thats probably why your main image went, because your profiles turned off. You have to have a profile if the image you have in the profile is there by default.

Also, if you have an avatar but change something in the profile on the forum - the avatars gets dropped if its your own that a Mod helped put there - I know - it happened to me...

Veronica - do you have an avatar you want to use? If its your own, then just make the size correct and forward it to a mod like they suggest on that 'Avatar' link I gave in my post above. If you want help creating an avatar, just let me know and I can help contact me on the profile side of CM - take care...

Thanks Angel; of course it counts to me whenever you think of me, since I think you're a very kool human being... Obviously I'm partial to brilliant, sweet, submissive gentlemen, but we knew that already or I wouldn't have found collarme or you in the first place.

I lost the my photo/avatar before I turned off the profile, though folks on message boards could still see my profile and photo, when it's turned on; now I'm thinking that maybe I lost it when I put up new photos, or changed something on this side accidentally, so will go back and check on here.. M
