I have to go with Young Frankenstein, Sam Raimi's glorious trilogy (no, not Spiderman[8D]), Bubba Ho-Tep, The Crow and tradition states that I must go to the midnight Rocky Horror Picture Show. Of course the ums have added all of the Harry Potter movies and ET to this list.

Night of the Day of the Dawn of the Son of the Bride of the Return of the Revenge of the Terror of the Attack of the Evil, Mutant, Alien, Flesh Eating, Hellbound, Zombified Living Dead Part 2: In Shocking 2-D

Saw  "Saw 5"  yesterday  not crazy about it, once again at the end, leaving the door wide open for   Saw 6.. hmmm

ArmoredOne -> RE: Favorite Halloween Movie (10/27/2008 2:37:40 AM)

Considering that there is a show on tv right now about actresses competing for a chance to star in Saw 6, it's not shocking in the least...

qr

I am going to have to go with "It's a great pumpkin, Charlie Brown" although I always get sad when he is trick or treating and only gets rocks.

The only thing Halloween III: Season of the Witch had in common with the first two (and however many since) was the title, but it's still a fun, creepy movie.

Daddysredhead -> RE: Favorite Halloween Movie (10/28/2008 7:49:43 PM)

It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown and the original Halloween.

The interesting thing about HalloweenIII is you know people often complain about film series basically regurgitating the same stuff in every sequal(the Saw films has hit this now with Saw5)

Then they do something different like they did with HalloweenIII and people complain.

Herzog's Nosferatu

Ok, Not real sure if It would be a halloween movie or not, but Sweets and I LOVE Nightmare Before Christmas.... Tim Burton is freaking AWESOME!!  Edward Scissorhands was another one... just CREEPY... not really scary.... Any Hitchcock movie is at the top of the list.... Loved interview with a vampire.... all of the Saw movies.... Plus, all of the Child's play movies.... That doll is SCARY!! I have never seen ET the whole way through... it scares me.... I really just like horror flicks... hell, I like movies.... all movies....

Edited to add:  Bram Stoker's Dracula.... :-D

The soundtrack to that was great.  Haunting.

MadameMarque -> RE: Favorite Halloween Movie (10/29/2008 4:03:26 AM)

There are actually so many movies I love with themes suitable for All Hallow's Eve, I really would love to have a private film festival with my friends, throughout the holiday season.

Several vampire movies, such as Copolla's Dracula, Moon Child,  the BBC Dracula with Louis Jordan, Blood: the Last Vampire (anime)

Stories about the occult and death and spirits, such as Constantine, Descendants of Darkness aka Yami no Matsuei (anime), the Death Note trilogy (love the live action movies; haven't seen the anime, yet).

I never think of myself as liking horror or fantasy, much.  But when I think of my favourite films, I am surprised to see many of them have these themes.

But for my favourite Halloween story, I still must say The Crow.
