Vitrually everytime ive recieved the cane, whether as punishment or because ive traded something for 6 stripes, which is often lol Master has been half way through delivery and i start giggling my head off actually once to the point of almost having the hysterics. Ive no idea why I do it cos everyone knows the cane isnt a laughing matter it Hurts!!!

So my questions are, A) anyone know why i start giggling and B) does it happen to anyone else?

Nothing happens to EVERYONE.

However, emotional reactions of EVERY kind are normal in scenes.

Scenes are not rational headspaces, they evoke "weird" responses. Whether it's hysterical crying or hysterical laughter, I've has all sorts of crazy emotions in scenes.

Just go with it.

I agree with LuckyAlbatross (btw, what happened to your avatar?). Enjoy and accept the sensations and emotional reactions-whatever they are. They're part of what makes you you.

But if you really want to know why you start giggling, you're going to have to sit yourself down and ask yourself. No one can tell you why you do what you do, except you. Lots of ppl can offer opinions, but you're the only one who truly knows.

Happy self-exploration.

I asked if it happened to anyone else, i didnt automatically assume it happened to EVERYONE! and No i dont know why it makes me giggle i wouldnt have asked if i did, one thing tho Im not giggling for long Master soon see's to that.

I suppose its to do with endorphines or sommat similar not been a medical person i wouldnt have a clue, hence the questions.

When something hurts me a lot, instead of crying, I start to laugh a LOT.

~shrug~ Who knows, reactions are weird.

Perhaps itg is a way to protect oneself, just like pepole in desperate situations start telling jokes, to survive mentaly, a good luagh lengtens the life it is said and it is a wonderful way to protect onself against the negative, perhaps you are trying not to feel negative emotions by protecting yourself by luagther.

That's not terribly abnormal. I do something fairly similar. Whenever I'm in an emotionally distressing situation I have giggle fits that are very hard to control. It can be socially crippling, but I've learned in time to get it under control with a lot of effort. If your giggling isn't hurting anything though, keep at it. It's a natural expression.

Throw another vote on the board for 'not all that strange'. I don't do it too often, but sometimes I will start laughing and gigglig instead of crying. Distraught giggling is *very* strange to an observer who doesn't understand what is happening!

Was maybe 12, visiting a friend's house and knocked over this huge ceramic lamp--million pieces on the floor. I was horrified, and then more so when I started giggilng.

It's one of nature's less used stress reactions. Fun related article http://abcnews.go.com/GMA/Health/story?id=1370911

I've been known to have giggling fits after some intense play, the giggling can last for hours and its very hard to control. How ive always seen it is my body releasing the joy, it doesnt seem to be emotional to me, its a more refined energy than an emotion, joy is the only word i can think of, dont now if its the same reason for you.

I do the exact same thing… last scene I had the Dom caned and paddled me and the whole time all I did was giggle… I do the same thing with needles it’s just a reaction to pain (that some I don’t think like very much) but it happens and it’s a natural thing. Have fun and giggle on

in answer to question a) if i had to hazard a guess i would guess it was nervous giggles.

in answer to question b) i do get the giggles at times from canes, but then again*winks* i have been called weird because canes are my favorites toy my reactions range from quiet sighs to loud screams, soft moans to intense orgasms, no responce at all to full blown giggles to the point of not having any breath left.

*winks* will disagree with you on one point *grins* canes don't hurt that much clothes pins hurt way worse. but then again that is just me.

I agree with the others, reactions vary and some people actually emote laughter in very tense situations instead of tears--it is not a sign that you aren't at that stage that you want to cry., but it is your way of releasing your tension and fear--when I was on the NOPD, we had an officer that we had to let go--everytime we got into a dangerous situation, he started laughing---basically endangering us--we put him on desk duty--smiles----

nervous laughter is a good thing....as long as long as you don't laugh at size!

That's just cruel.

Slaverr,

Thankyou so much that was such a funny post!
I am still teared with happiness and smiles ear to ear. My laughter was from pure naughtiness/mischievousness and excitement, and the fact that I had been sprung somehow?.

Hello There,
I also laugh when I am caned and laugh during extremely painful play. It's funny some days I laugh and some days I cry.
I think it's a coping mechanism or something. I have actually had it get me into heavier scenes as my Master or the Doms say things like " You think that's funny huh?" and then proceed to whip me harder.
THe very first time I was spanked by a belt I laughed so hard it made tears roll down my cheeks.
In addition to that I laugh during sex when things feel really good.

I think it's a cool reaction. You only live once. I also don't understand where the laughter comes from or why, but if it works, don't fix it is my motto.
Sincerely,
sub suzanne
