I just got off the phone with Himself. The contract is signed, he got us a furnished apartment with a one year lease and I adore the kitchen .. (pics here and cable internet access.. yes!) .. and we are to be in Portugal no later than January 5th. The lawyers for the company are doing everything so, basically, we only have to continue our language studies (Himself is officially an employee as of Nov 1, but will working from the states until we relocate), pack our clothes and hop on the plane. We've already been invited (I got invited too!! ) to the company's annual party which is 4 days in some castle somewhere and apparently Portugal has a law that you're not allowed to work more than 3 hours per day if business is held outside your normal place commerce (I'm fuzzy on this one) but according to the CEO and the employees there, it's my understanding that what mostly happens at this annual event is a lot of drinking. ::hick:: No wonder there are so many oshhh sounds! ::laughs::

Its not so much that I'm envious of your new life in the sun as another wet, windy, cold year in the UK rolls into view in the distance, as much as I am pig sick jealous. Please provide full address. You have a lodger arriving early 2009. E

Bidet? Bleedin' bidet? I've heard of too posh to push, but too posh to wipe is getting a bit much I reckon! Mind you - you might have to check on this - a lot of southern Europe doesnt have water pressure sufficient to deal with toilet paper and the like; nothing like a bin full of used toilet paper when its 35 degrees (centigrade - another thing to get used too)........ eeeeuurrgghhhh! E

We actually had a bidet in our hotel room when we were in Portugal, but I didn't use it. Too scary! [sm=whoa.gif]

Plenty of room in the Jag GT! Bloomin' long drive though unless you take the Plymouth-Santander ferry 2412km through France and Spain (1508 miles) E

You think you've got problems GT? As a fully confirmed idiot, I have arranged a trip to Germany next month, taking two 8 hour ferry trips and a 1200 mile drive there and back in four days - most of which is on the wrong side of roads that I dont know on a route of which I am at best vaguely aware through two continental countries. I love a challenge, I think E
