Aileen68 -> You just have to love that sub vibe (12/12/2005 11:28:42 AM)

It's taken me many years to acknowledge and accept the fact that I am a submissive woman. I think it had a lot to do with realizing that I can be submissive and still be strong, independent and free thinking. They can go hand in hand. It's this realization and acceptance that has allowed me to become extremely comfortable and confident in the last half year or so with who I am and what I need. I've noticed, as has my family and friends, that there is a certain calmness about me now. I still look the same. I still dress the same. I still do the same day to day things. But I have to tell you that I have men coming out of the woodwork lately trying to connect with me, whether it's standing on line at the store, walking through Home Depot or browsing books and B&N. I chalk it up to what I call my sub vibe since nothing else in my life has changed. So I guess my question is...do you think there is such a thing as a sub vibe? A Dom/Domme vibe? Or am I just crazy?

MHOO314 -> RE: You just have to love that sub vibe (12/12/2005 11:45:36 AM)

You are not crazy, there is indeed what I like to call an "aura" that one projects--its very real and very pleasant----good for you!

KatyLied -> RE: You just have to love that sub vibe (12/12/2005 11:45:50 AM)

I think it's a "vibe" in so much that it is part of a personality trait. I think it's there, perhaps not always apparent, and it doesn't work with everyone, but when there is a mesh, it's a great thing.

LuckyAlbatross -> RE: You just have to love that sub vibe (12/12/2005 11:51:59 AM)

It's more just a "fulfillment of self" vibe. This happens no matter what your orientation is.

Sensualips -> RE: You just have to love that sub vibe (12/12/2005 11:54:06 AM)

Your just crazy. (Someone had to say it!)

I think there is a sub vibe, a dominant vice, a bisexual vibe, and even an insane lunatic vibe. I bet in your case it is more the "extremely comfortable and confident" vibe that is attracting men though.

ExistentialSteel -> RE: You just have to love that sub vibe (12/12/2005 11:54:40 AM)

There is something like radar...Domdar.

Aileen,
I think what you are experiencing are others sensing your confidence. I do believe there is a "Confidence - vibe". It doesn't matter which side of the D/s or M/s equation, or even if you have a M/s side. Once you find it comfortable to be yourself, and like being that person, you give off a "vibe" more powerful than any pheromone. Maybe it's because self confidence has become rare.

I'm not sure it's a domme vibe, it probably is more as everyone has stated, a more confident/comfortable with yourself vibe that is compelling to bystanders. I noticed the same thing about myself; I seem to be more noticeable to people around me at work, or wherever I am. M

Not so much as a sub vibe...more along the lines of confidence in yourself. When you feel confident about who and what you are, in every sense...it shows. And let's face it, confidence in oneself is like a magnet, it draws attention :)

You should pat yourself on the back for reaching a state that many of us try all our lives to attain.

Synocense -> RE: You just have to love that sub vibe (12/12/2005 2:34:54 PM)

I agree : ) I would call it "confidence" -- how much more beautiful a confident person is. It comes from the inside and shines bright for everyone to see.

Revel in it, no matter what you call it.

Jack Palance said it best when he said, "Confidence is sexy". I suspect you're attracting attention due to your self confidence and happyness in your place in the univers.

slavejali -> RE: You just have to love that sub vibe (12/12/2005 2:42:26 PM)

Contentment with who you are and where you are at in life, pervades your skin and makes you exude an aura which can be felt by others. So yeah, you could call it a subbie or slave vibe.

Just thought of this so am adding it:
i think everyone gives off vibes depending on how they are feeling etc. A really good example of that is when you walk into a room when someone has heard some bad news, you can feel it, or walk into a room where something exciting has happened the air is tingling, you dont have to be told, you can feel it. Our inner state of being is reflected out into the world at all times, its nothing we say or do.

I hope they are better than the ones that crawl out from under their rocks.

Midear A.-

gee- I have fantasies about running into a girl like you at home depot or a bookstore- the only thing sexier than a reader is a woman with her own tools<g>.

But I do think, besides the whole comfortable-in-you-own-skin-is-sexy aspect, that there is a certain Dom/Sub vibe on some subtle level...

Stay warm,
Lawrence

See, this has been my point. I've always been strong in my life and confident, but it wasn't until I embraced my submissivieness with my confidence did everything fall into place. It's only been since then that have I received the responses that I do now. I think sub vibes attract dom vibes and vice versa. Haven't you, as a sub, ever been in a room and had someone walk in that just immediately catches your attention and puts you on alert...makes you watch them for signs of dominance? And sure enough before long you pick up on those signs. And the same for doms watching for signs of submissiveness based on perceived vibes.

Yes. The last time it happened was at the gym. The guy beside me on the treadmill. Nice, buff, strong. We were discussing Thanksgiving. I almost fell off the treadmill when he told me that he'd "dominated the ham."
